Support Arigin, in Memory of Danich

Arigin and Danich first met in middle school. Arigin didn't know it then, but Danich was smitten! Friendship turned into love, and for more than 12 years they have been together as best friends -- and, in 2008, as husband and wife.

They enjoyed life as any young couple does -- hiking, camping, taking road trips, and (in Danich's case, admiring fancy cars). A few years ago they added to their family by adopting Khaleesi, a Husky who has been their constant and loyal companion.

Life for Danich and Arigin was just perfect ... that is, until Danich was diagnosed in 2015 with high-grade neuroendocrine carcinoma. For the past year, their life has been consumed with doctor visits, chemotherapy, clinical trials and radiation. For a few months, things were looking good. But cancer, as we all know, can be insidious.

July and August 2016 should have been a time to enjoy the Seattle summer, but instead, Danich and Arigin were faced with ER visits and a cancer that had begun to spread. Each day, Arigin was by Danich's side, taking the responsibility to ensure that he was getting the best possible care. She searched desperately for the latest research advancements that might lead to a cure, and she contacted the best oncologists in the world who were familiar with this type of cancer.

But in the early morning hours of Sept. 23, time ran out, and Danich passed away at home. Arigin is heartbroken and devastated.

Friends of Arigin and Danich are raising funds to alleviate the burden of medical and funeral expenses.
