Arctic 2019

Donation protected
Greetings Friends,

Many of you may not know but I was recently diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.  Receiving the diagnosis was a very eye opening experience that is pushing me to chase after things that I am passionate about.  I am raising money because I have been accepted to the ClimateForce: Arctic 2019 Expedition.  The journey begins in June of 2019 with the purpose of using adventure as a vehicle to preserve our planet.  The expedition will be led by world renown explorer Robert Swan of ClimateForce who was the first person to walk to both poles.  Each explorer that signs on to the journey will take part in the Leadership on the Edge Program which consists of leadership development, up-to-date climate change training, and sustainability education.  This is a unique life changing opportunity that will be beneficial not only to myself but the future of the planet.  One of the long-term goals of ClimateForce is the re-negotiation of the moratorium on mining in Antarctica which expires in the year 2041.  Being recently diagnosed with MS I am beginning my journey on an uncertain path.  I not only welcome the challenge of making it to the Arctic in 2019 but I am setting my own personal goal to make the trip again in 2041.

I am asking for $22,000.00 which will help pay for costs including airfare, the expedition fee, room and board, travel insurance, and the necessary gear to embark on this expedition.  The majority of the journey will take place on the National Geographic Explorer ship which will depart from Norway and head  north for the Arctic Circle.  Any support is much appreciated!
