April's Medical Bills Fund

I know we all go through hard times and sometimes a little help can make a positive impact in our lives. I have been grateful when I could help others. I always want to be on that end as a giver, but I am now the one asking for help and it is difficult.

 Over the last several years, I’ve experienced some serious issues with my health and all of my expenses have had to be paid out-of-pocket.  Along with this, my teenage daughter has required financial assistance for her own health and well-being.  As her mother and being her main provider, I willingly took care of her needs before my own.  It has drained me both financially and physically to try to cover us both.  In fact, I’m having to choose between which bills I can pay first and basic necessities.

 Now I’m finding myself in a position of needing additional treatment and preparatory tests for an esophageal stricture, a condition which has been causing me to choke when I eat, and on some occasions, the side-effect of this has caused blacking out during the choking episodes.  This is very dangerous as it could cause even more serious repercussions and hospitalization if food is aspirated to my lungs.  All of which I have no money to cover and without insurance.

 I’ve already had one procedure and the follow-up procedure is supposed to take place in August, and I’ve been putting it off.  I have been trying to get additional work but the spiral is that I can’t work when I’m not well.  My last bills, along with the projected costs and loss of income are already at $5,156.00.
