We are EqÜES, an organization made up of 100 volunteers, all university students from the Health Sciences branch, who are committed to the objective of promoting education in first aid, and rapid response to health emergencies. Among other activities, we give talks and hands-on workshops on CPR, first aid, drug and health prevention at schools and high schools of Navarra completely free of charge, because we firmly believe that every single person has the right to know how to save a life. In addition, we are setting up a medical volunteering project in the Apurimac region of Perú, where 10-15 of our volunteers will offer our workshops to the more impoverished schools and orphanages of the region, for them to also have the opportunity of acquiring the same first aid skills as well as the basic hygiene measures recommended by the World Health Organization (WaSH) for the prevention of infectious diseases. We will also offer our services to collaborate with existing local medical assistance services.
Our history
We started out on this journey 3 years ago, when three of our volunteers joined forces in order to create a university volunteer program to meet this objective, seeing as we found all existing options very lacking. In short, we created EqÜES between us all. Thanks to the collaboration and united efforts of teachers and coordinators at each school together with that of our volunteers, we can now proudly say that, as of today, we have reached 2500 people who, thanks to our project, have the skills necessary to safely approach and handle the first response to any emergency situation. However, we are not yet satisfied, and our project is increasingly sought after and demanded by schools, highscools and other interested sources in our region. We cannot keep on growing without your help any longer.
For our Christmas wish, we ask YOU to help us keep this dream alive, to help us keep teaching others how to save lives. The time, enthusiasm and willpower is on us, and we are happily committed to keep working towards our goal.
What will the raised funds go towards?
We wish to purchase medical simulation material (CPR dummies, first aid kits, etc) in order to be able to work in a more autonomous manner. Each CPR dummy costs approximately 150 euros. However, most of the funding will be destined to the Apurimac region project: transport and travel costs for the volunteers, printing of the health education handbooks for the kids, and other associated educational resources. We are an independent association that does not receive funding from any other source. Thank you all!!

Somos EqÜES, un grupo de unos 100 estudiantes universitarios del ámbito de ciencias de la salud que hacemos actividades para promocionar las urgencias y las emergencias. Entre otras cosas, vamos a los colegios e institutos de Navarra y damos formación en RCP, prevención de drogas y primeros auxilios de forma gratuita, porque pensamos que todo el mundo tiene derecho a saber cómo salvar una vida. Además, estamos organizando un proyecto de voluntariado médico en la región de Apurimac (Perú), donde 10-15 de nosotros visitaremos los colegios y orfanatos más desfavorecidos para formar a los niños en primeros auxilios y medidas de higiene recomendadas por la OMS y colaboraremos con la práctica médica rural.
¿Cómo empezamos?
Empezamos hace 3 años, cuando 3 de nosotros intentamos unirnos a algún grupo de voluntariado universitario y nos dimos cuenta de que no había nada disponible. Así que montamos EqÜES entre todos. A día de hoy, gracias al esfuerzo de coordinadores, profesores de cada centro y nuestros voluntarios, hemos formado a unas 2500 personas. Pero tenemos ganas de más, y las peticiones de formación también han ido a más. Y ya no podemos seguir creciendo sin ti.
Esta navidad te pedimos que nos ayudes a seguir enseñando a salvar vidas. Las horas, la ilusión y el esfuerzo las ponemos nosotros.
¿A qué irá destinado el dinero?
Queremos comprar material de simulación (muñecos RCP, botiquines, etc) para poder trabajar de forma más autónoma. Cada muñeco de RCP cuesta unos 150e. Sin embargo, la mayor parte de la financiación irá destinada al proyecto de Apurimac: transporte de los 10-15 voluntarios, impresión de libros de educación sanitaria para los niños, material de formación. Somos una asociación que no recibe financiación de ninguna otra fuente. Mil gracias a todos!!
