This a fundraiser to send Mya aka AppleCat to the healing biotope of Tamera this August to participate in a village-making immersion.
I'm Faeri, Mya's friend, writing on behalf of many of us who hold Mya dear.
Many of you know AppleCat as the vision holder for Erotica Electronica, the massively popular night for electronic music and "kink-lite."
Along with her fellow key consipirators (Faeri, Melina, Miranda, Jason and countless more) this event has become known as a transformational safe and playful space to explore all aspects of your sexuality with out shame or judgement.
Mya has also been instrumental in seeding the practice of The Forum, which was brought back to the Vancouver/Victoria/Salt Spring area last year by her partner Ian MacKenzie. This practice is about cultivating spaces of deep listening, sharing our private worlds, and being held in the wider circle of community - in service toward the healing of love.
While Mya has been able to deepen her knowledge and experience through attending a Love School in Oakland last October, there is now the chance for her to visit Tamera in person from Aug 1-14, 2016 for the Village Building Course .
Why is Tamera so important?
"Tamera is a peace research project with the goal to create the model for a future society that is free from hatred, lies, violence and fear. Tamera is an acupuncture point of peace, a greenhouse of trust, a prototype for an existence free of fear on this planet, a post-capitalist societal model and a place where the human and meta realm of life come together."
Tamera has spent 40 years building a field of peace, on that can only be experienced by visiting in person. From this immersion, Mya will learn the skills of village-making and healing of love, with wisdom holders like Sabine Lichentfels (serious badass crone).
Why send Mya?
Aside from being generally awesome, Mya offers transformative experiences on the dance floor, and mind-expanding writing and poetry on the Facebook. She councils many with relationship wisdom, and spends countless hours building community through holding events and facilitating The Forum practice.
While much appreciated by the community, this work is not financially lucrative, and as such, attending the Tamera course isn't possible without your help!
This trip to Tamera would let Mya's village directly support her back, allowing her to deepen in the practice and bring back the gems for us all.
How the funds will be spent:
The funds will cover travel expenses (plane ticket, travel costs) and the course fee at Tamera, which covers tuition and food for 14 days.
Plane ticket: $1300
Course fee: $400
Meals & Camping: $200
Once the funds are collected, I'll send the funds to Ian to make the final booking on her behalf.
Upon returning, along with a few other members of our community, she'll share what she's learned and help us all reawaken the village.
