Life-Saving Service Dog for Anthony

This is me. I am Anthony -  a  little boy that needs you to hear me.
I cannot talk, so I will plead with you through the heart of my mom.

All I want to do is get better, learn how to talk, and play outside like all the other kids I see out my front window.  But I have a condition that keeps me mostly indoors for my safety.
Every second of the day, someone must watch me, and hold my hand if I'm not inside my home.

I am not a bad little boy. I am a sweet little boy that has Autism. Even though mommy and daddy have tried so hard, they cannot help me with my bolting. This is a thing where I can't help but to flee in a split second. I am dangerously curious and love to wander, especially to water and moving vehicles.

I am very strong. I look little but I am so mighty.
I can't go outside and play freely like other kids yet.
I can't go to school because I am too much of a flight risk. If I could, I would control thisdesire - but I can't yet, and with so many children with autism dying because they've run away, it's too risky for me.

But here is some good news! There's a big strong service doggie that can help me stay safe. So many other children with autism are out and playing and learning now  because doggies like this can keep us from running away. Yes, someone will always be by my side, but now this extra buddy will keep me almost as safe as can be.
He is also trained to help me stay calm when my senses are overwhelmed, alert my family if I'm in danger, and even rescue me in water.

My dog is almost done his training, so all we need now is fundraising support. I can hardly wait for him so I can go out and play, go places with my mommy, and to be even more safe in my own home.

Bad news is - he is the most expensive kind of service dog to get and maintain. But I know that too many people love me too much to let this stop me from getting me my dog, and all the other therapies I need to help me get better, learn how to speak, and have a real chance at life.

I thank you now from my heart, and hopefully some day - with my words.
Hugs and kisses (I love to give kisses),

Anthony Sakellis

Many, MANY thanks to the hundreds of donators and thousands of shares for Anthony's service dog campaign. We have reached a huge milestone. This week our boy was finally able to begin school! We will be forever grateful, humbled, and deeply touched for everyone's love and generosity. The future is beginning to look so much brighter for our little angel, who has finally sprouted some wings.
With so much love, and deepest sincerity,
The Sakellis family.
