Anne's D.C. Internship Fund

Hi everyone! My name is Anne Karsten and I'm a junior at Concordia University Wisconsin, studying Business and Public Relations.  I'm originally from Waupun, Wisconsin.  I'm the chair of College Republicans at my university, and my number one passion is conservative activism. I believe it is supremely important to get the message of conservative truth and the love of liberty to members of my generation. I love connecting students on my campus to like-minded individuals, strong conservative leaders, and facilitating discussion on important issues. My goal is to settle in the Greater Milwaukee area after I graduate and continue to fight for liberty alongside the amazing men and women who inspire me in this work every day.

As I am working towards my goal to work in conservative politics, I have recieved an exciting opportunity for this summer: a once-in-a-life
time offer to work as an intern in Washington D.C.

I am thrilled to have been accepted to the Charles Koch Institute 2017 Summer Program after a lengthy interview process. The Charles Koch Institute internship aligns tremendously well with my deep personal passion for conservative political action, as well as for the empowerment of individuals through ingenuity and generosity. An internship with this profile is extraordinary, and I am honored to have been invited to participate in it.

However, along with this incredible opportunity comes a significant challenge. Due to my personal financial situation, I am not able to afford the cost of living that would be necessary to accept this internship. I have thus far worked diligently to pay for the cost of a private college education (at times, working three jobs at a time while in school full time), and due to this expense, my ability to support a venture to Washington, D.C. this summer is out of reach. Simply stated, the additional expenses occurred while living in D.C. are far beyond my financial capabilities, and I need outside financial support to accomplish this final internship of my college career.

Just as those whom the Charles Koch Institute seeks to assist depend on the generosity of the organization, I am likewise asking for your generosity. This gift would allow me to overcome my tremendous financi
al difficulties, accept the internship, and gain priceless experience that will equip me for a life of significance and service to my community and beyond.

I am looking to raise $5000 to finance my living expenses. Though the organization I will be working with suggests that I have quite a bit more money allocated to my expenses, I am used to living in a very thrifty manner and I am committed to keeping my costs as low as possible.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for considering giving to this cause.
With sincere gratitude,

Anne Karsten
