London ocr world championships

It was a year ago when I was in a bad spot. My mental health was bad, my living area was bad, my physical health was bad. It came to a point where I didn’t feel like I belonged anywhere, even my own house. The only one I could talk to was my mom and that was every other weekend and an hour Wednesday nights. She took me to her friends house for a Memorial Day party up at the lake and I told them what sports I was into at the time (kick boxing and jui jitsu). I was being forced into them but I still did it. Then they started to talk about spartan racing and Obstacle course racing. They told me I should try one. I was getting excited, I had about a month of training and I started to run again and started to become fast. The week before the training at my gym specifically for this race I had to move out of a family members house and my mom got full custody of me and my brother. It killed me and all up to the race I was worse then I have ever been. I had anxiety attacks every night, self esteem issues, self confidence issues, stressed and not eating. Once I finished this race I realized what I actually was and how good it felt to be able to do something on my own. A few days passed by and the results came in I got 10 th place for my very first race, I did it in 53 minutes. I was proud I did that. The pictures came in and I have never seen a smile like that on my face in a very long time. My next race was about 3-4 months after and with hard training I qualified for world championships in Canada. I kept racing and people kept trying to pull me down, trying to me feel like I wasn’t worth anything. None of that stopped me and it made me stronger and it fed my fuel to keep going forward and striving to be the best me I can be. In October 2017 I went to worlds. I got 9th place out of 18 females 13-17. This last race I ran, Fenway Park spartan sprint 11/4/17, I qualified again. I got 1st place out of my age with 79 girls, 5th place out of all the 2055 females that ran, and 76 place over all with 3946 people. I’m only 16. This year world champion ships is in London, England and we really don’t have the money to go. I am determined to get enough money for me and my mom and my brother to go on an adventure and celebrate another great accomplishment with the 2 people I love most in this world. This race is in October 2018.

The race is a year away so these are guestimates. My goal will change as we get closer to October 2018.
The race itself is $250
The flight is about $400-500
Hotel is about $1100
Food is about $1000
