Please support my Sacred Summer Music Sabbatical! I'm preparing to record an album and I need YOUR help to make it happen! Our fundraiser will run May15-July15.
This Summer, I'm polishing all of my existing songs and accompanying instrumental proficiency, taking piano lessons, playing tons more shows, and focusing on writing more songs about this journey to Sacred Understanding and Self-Love.
10% of this fundraiser and 10% of all my show income this Summer is going to several sexual assault/domestic violence and mental health advocacy organizations (https://greatist.com/happiness/stop-domestic-violence-organizations and www.nami.org) and also to Al-Anon (I'm a member).
I'm finally taking the leap! I'm #SurrenderingToTheSacred music within me. When I made this decision, after years of people saying, "Anita, why aren't you pursuing music? If I had what you have...",, the biggest fears were financial. I am learning to believe in myself and in the community of love that supports me. With the help of a few dear friends and some budgeting, I have found that I only need about $4700 for the Summer to prepare for this album. I also realized that if all of my friends just gave $5, I could surpass this goal easily. I'm asking all of you for $5. There are gifts for you too! $50-$100 -> Signed Anita Lorraine CD, "Surrendering to the Sacred" upon release, recording/production Autumn/Winter 2018/19 (w/digital download card included)
$100-$250 -> First press limited edition vinyl "Surrendering to the Sacred" album w/digital download card of complete album (2019)
$250+ -> Anita Lorraine house concert!
Inside of each album and included with all donation gifts, there will be a "zine" in which an illustrated version of my triumphant tiny self (my Higher Power) will be explaining my story, you'll get to know me in a deeper way. The zine will also have resources for you to learn about sexual assault/domestic violence/PTSD and what you can do to be an ally to victims to help them overcome this pervasive problem. (Zines (pronounced “zeens”) are tiny, homemade magazines reproduced with the aid of a photocopier.)
I want to do this for me. Also of utmost importance, to share my story in a creative way. It is my hope to be a positive influence for those who've been in my shoes, either as children or adults who've experienced sexual violence or trauma in some way.
