Animkeence/Naamkwud Memorial

We are raising funds to provide for a memorial Grass Dance and Drum Special at the Walpole Island First Nation Community Powwow on May 19 & 20, 2018. The Specials are in memory of the twins Animkeence (Dallas Soney) a champion Grass Dancer and Naamkwud (Dakota Soney) an emerging champion Singer at the Drum. These brothers lives were taken from us tragically at a young age as they were beginning their young lives in their early 20s. Each young man left a young son as their legacy. All funds will be used to recognize those Grass Dancers and Singers at the Drum that were such a big part of their lives as they travelled on the Powwow Trail. Your support will be greatly appreciated and assist in the healing and acknowledgement of these two gifted young men. -Chi meegwetch
