ADOPTING A FESTIVAL IS AN ACT OF COHESION AND SHARING <english version at the bottom>
Animaphix è il primo festival di cinema in Sicilia, e uno dei pochissimi in Italia, dedicato al filone più sperimentale e autoriale dell’animazione mondiale e delle arti visive. Un festival con lo sguardo rivolto verso il futuro, attento alle cinematografie emergenti, alle produzioni indipendenti, ai talenti nascosti e alle opere premiate in tutto il mondo, ma fuori dalle logiche del mercato della grande distribuzione.
Dal 2015 Animaphix rappresenta uno degli appuntamenti più attesi e interessanti per gli appassionati di cinema d’animazione e non solo, un’occasione di incontro e scambio di idee per registi e autori, italiani e stranieri, che scelgono il festival siciliano dell’animazione per presentare le proprie opere.
Proiezioni cinematografiche, performance artistiche, concerti live, workshop, mostre, videoinstallazioni e iniziative speciali anche per i più piccoli, a luglio “popoleranno” la cornice settecentesca di villa Cattolica e del Museo Guttuso di Bagheria, avvicinando visitatori da diverse parti del mondo, spinti non solo dalla passione cinematografica, ma anche dalla curiosità di conoscere il nostro territorio, la costa siciliana, il patrimonio artistico e tutti i luoghi meravigliosi della nostra isola.
È un’edizione importante quella del 2019, che rilancia verso una nuova apertura del Festival. Ci saranno numerosi ospiti e saranno avviati nuovi progetti artistici sul territorio a cui lavoriamo da anni e che finalmente potremo proporre al nostro pubblico, per promuovere un cambiamento sociale attraverso la cultura.
Per questo chiediamo un sostegno, perché desideriamo che Animaphix diventi un progetto di comunità, condiviso e partecipato.

CHI C’È DIETRO AL PROGETTO
Animaphix è organizzato dall’Associazione culturale QB. Ideato e diretto da Rosalba Colla, il festival si è avvalso della professionalità e dell’entusiasmo di una squadra costituita da diversi collaboratori che operano nel settore cinematografico e del management culturale, con il contributo indispensabile dei volontari, che in questi anni sono arrivati da diverse parti del mondo: oltre a numerosi siciliani, ci hanno raggiunto da Bruxelles, Tel Aviv, Perugia, Roma, Bologna, tutti mossi dalla medesima esigenza, quella di un cinema all’aperto che sappia mettersi in discussione, che rappresenti un’occasione culturale e sociale, un luogo di scambio, di incontro e di cambiamento a servizio del territorio e del suo tessuto sociale, che si apre ai circuiti internazionali del settore cinematografico dell’animazione.

ADOPTING A FESTIVAL IS AN ACT OF COHESION AND SHARING
Animaphix is the first film festival in Sicily, and one of the few in Italy, dedicated to the most experimental and authorial branch of international animation and visual arts. A festival with an eye on the future, with particular interest in emerging cinematography, independent productions, hidden talents and award-winning works all around the world, but outside the logic of large-scale retail trade.
Since 2015, Animaphix has been one of the most awaited and interesting events for the fans of animated cinema and not only. It’s an opportunity for Italian and foreign directors and authors, who choose the Sicilian festival of animation to present their works, to meet and exchange ideas.
Film screenings, artistic performances, live concerts, workshops, exhibitions, video-installations and special initiatives for children will “populate” the eighteenth century setting of Villa Cattolica and the Guttuso Museum in Bagheria, at the end of July. Visitors from all over the world come together, driven not only by cinematographic passion but also by a curiosity to learn about our territory, the Sicilian coast, the artistic patrimony and all the marvellous places of our island.
The 2019 edition is an important one, because it revives a new beginning for Festival. There will be several guests and new artistic projects will be launched which we have been working on for years and that we can finally present to our public, to promote a social change through culture.

The lack of funds for the realization of the 2019 edition, due to drastic cuts made by the City of Bagheria, means we are economically independent and in need of your contribution!

HOW THE FUNDS WILL BE USED
Animaphix is a festival that feeds on the passion of those who believe and work in it. Given the difficulty in finding the funds for the realization of the next edition, we also need your support. In particular, the money of the crowdfunding will cover the costs related to the production, communication, hospitality and subtitling of the films in Italian.

WHO’S BEHIND THE PROJECT
Animaphix is organised by the Cultural Association QB. The organization of the festival has made use of the professionalism and enthusiasm of a team made up of several collaborators working in the film industry and cultural management, with the indispensable contribution of volunteers, who in recent years have come from different parts of the world: as well as many Sicilians, they have been coming from Brussels, Tel Aviv, Perugia, Rome, Bologna, all moved by the same need, that of an open-air cinema that knows how to question itself, that represents a cultural and social opportunity, a place of exchange, meeting and change at the service of the territory and its social fabric, which opens up to international circuits of the film industry of animation.
