Our mother Lavinia Yor is the most strongest, caring, devoted person we know, I'm not just saying that because she's our mother, but because she is truly an angel here on earth, most people who have met her would agree.
With her kind and generous heart she is always thinking of and putting others first. As a mother of seven and a grandmother to four she has put the needs of her large family before herself, even when diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014, she still managed to go to work to provide for us. With the hard work she puts in to care for all of us she is truly loved and respected, which is why we have taken it upon ourselves to appeal to the wider community on her behalf.
Our mother was diagnosed in 2014 with stage 1 breast cancer. she had surgery and underwent chemotherapy and radiation treatments, after a couple of months we were told the good news, she was cured, you could imagine the joy we felt to know that our mum was going to be okay and the joy our mother felt that she beat cancer and everything could go back to normal. In 2016 we received news that not only did her cancer return but it had metastasised into her lungs and liver. It was now stage 4 cancer, she was told there was no hope of curing the cancer this time, and that she needed to go back on chemotherapy as a means of extending her life. Through extensive research, we discovered that there were alternative cancer treatments, however, most of these treatment options are only available overseas and are quite expensive . We’ve spoken to a number of these overseas clinics and after looking at Mum’s results, they have informed us that it’s not too late. They can in fact improve her situation drastically with new and alternative treatment options.
Watching our mother go through chemotherapy the first time was a very stressful and painful time for her and our family, so if there’s an alternative way to help fight this disease and keep our mother around longer, more for our little sisters and her grand kids who adore her then we have to try our best to get her there.
It is here that we are asking for your help. We have found a place that has given us hope of potentially life saving treatment for our mother. Any help or donations that can be given will ensure that we are one step closer to saving her life. Please help us save our mum.
