Angie's Pump&CGM & now SURGERY Fund

Donation protected
UPDATE: I got the pump & cgm thanks to all your help over a year ago!!❤️❤️  Unfortunately now I’m needing a surgery to remove the essure device from my body. ☹️ According to my doctor it is causing my eye problems, along with crazy blood sugars, headaches, nausea, pelvic and back pain, along with crazy hormones and some other issues.  It basically feels like a very miserable pregnancy but with no pregnancy. The cost of the surgery will be $7,500.  Since you guys already helped me get my pump by donating almost $2000, the new goal to pay for the surgery is $9000.

In a nutshell- I'm trying to pay for an insulin pump and CGM (continuous glucose monitor). I had medicaid for several years and used to get SSI, all my medical expenses were paid- life was great! After getting the SSI, I married my son's father thinking I would be able to keep my insurance- and lost it all. Now we buy everything out of pocket and have been for the past 5 years. It's been tough, but I have been blessed with some great diabetic friends and family who have helped me by giving me insulin. Thank you to all who have literally been life savers to me!!
Once loosing my insurance, I started my own photography business. I have worked hard and put my heart into it and have achieved a certain level of artistic success. I have won a few awards and was even ranked as the #1 female photographer in Atlanta by Thumbtack.com. Unfortunately, awards do not = money.
My husband also works for himself in the heating & air business, so we don't have any 'employer' insurance available, and we just couldn't afford any of the plans in the 'market place'.  My HOPE is that my and my husband's businesses will continue to grow and next year we will be able to afford health care.

WHY I NEED A PUMP & CGM:
For years I have struggled with my diabetes along with related eating disorders. Lately things have become more difficult to control and I realize that I must do all I can to be healthy and live.  As I’m trying to do this, I’m having more and more low blood sugars.. They are especially dangerous and potentially deadly at night. To make matters worse many times even during the day, I am not able to tell when my blood sugar is low. (this was something that I didn't have to worry about when my blood sugar was just really high all the time) A CGM would check my blood sugar every few minutes automatically and an alarm will go off to warn me. I also have varying insulin needs throughout the day that simply can't be properly managed on shots. I had a pump in the past and it was amazing! After several years, the pump eventually started to malfunction. I was trying to get a new one when I lost my insurance. I am asking my friends, family and caring strangers to help me get a pump and gcm. I'm not just sitting around hoping for freebies, if I was, I could just quit working, divorce my husband and get Medicaid again! Lol I'm not willing to give up though, I take pride in working hard and being able to provide some very part time jobs in my community, and my company does a lot of free and reduced work for charities,  law enforcement, firefighters and emt's.  Any donation at all, even $1 will be greatly appreciated!! It all adds up!! If you are in the Atlanta or north Georgia area and make a donation of $200, I will give you a photo shoot, or a gift certificate for a free shoot that you can gift to someone else!
