Angel Gordillo-Vasquez

On June 2016 my Nephew, a recent graduate of Calexico High School, Angel Gordillo (18 years old) – son of Ana Aide Vasquez and Armando Gordillo, fainted/collapsed during his second day at a gym in Calexico; he was rushed to El Centro Regional Medical Center emergency room and from there was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), apparently due to blood clots in his lungs. After further testing it was discovered that he had several tumors. Doctors immediately recommended having a biopsy performed and it was discovered that he had some form of a rare cancer. He has been undergoing months of treatment and has undergone chemotherapy while admitted to UCSD Thornton Hospital in San Diego. He has had several side effects from treatment such as problems with his lungs, kidneys, and liver. He has had to undergo blood transfusions and will need the removal of blood clots from his lungs. He has been hospitalized for weeks in San Diego with his parents by his side. Both have been unable to work due to all of his complications. They have alternated staying with him at his bedside while the other slept in the car. My sister is an employee at Calexico Walmart for many years. She has almost exhausted all her time being there with her son and his treatment. At this point, they are in need of prayers and any financial assistance to help cover with the many expenses. This is just the beginning of his cancer treatment. He is scheduled for more chemotherapy in the upcoming months. We have created this account to help Angel and his family with financial assistance to help them get thru this extremely hard time. Thank you for all your kind words and support.

En Junio del 2016 mi Sobrino, recién graduado de la Preparatoria de Caléxico, Ángel Gordillo (18 años) – hijo de Ana Aidé Vásquez y Armando Gordillo, se desmayó el segundo día que iba al gimnasio en Caléxico; se lo llevaron de urgencia a la sala de emergencias de El Centro Regional Medical Center (hospital) y de ahí fue admitido a la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos, aparentemente debido a coágulos en los pulmones. Después de varios exámenes descubrieron que tenía varios tumores. Los doctores inmediatamente recomendaron se le hiciera una biopsia y con esto se descubrió que tenía un tipo de cáncer muy raro, poco común. Él ha pasado meses de tratamiento y aguantado quimioterapia durante su estancia en UCSD Thornton Hospital en San Diego. Ha tenido muchos efectos secundarios por este tratamiento como problemas con sus pulmones, riñones y el hígado. Ha tenido que recibir transfusiones de sangre y necesita que le extraigan los coágulos de sus pulmones. Ha estado hospitalizado por semanas en San Diego y sus padres han estado a su lado. Ambos han tenido que faltar a sus trabajos debido a sus complicaciones. Ellos se han estado alternando en quedarse, ya sea junto a él en el cuarto del hospital mientras el otro duerme en el carro. Mi hermana ha trabajado para Caléxico Walmart por varios años. Ella está a punto de quedarse sin horas (de vacaciones y de enfermedad) por estar al lado de su hijo durante su tratamiento. Ha llegado el punto, que ellos están necesitando de sus oraciones y de cualquier tipo de ayuda económica para cubrir todos los gastos. Esto es sólo el principio de su tratamiento para el cáncer. Ángel ya está programado para más quimioterapias en los siguientes meses.
