I may be a little biased, but my sister, Michelle, and brother-in-law, Andy, are one truly special couple.
They got engaged in September 2017, and in the midst of wedding planning, they learned that Andy's dad's cancer prognosis was not good. Being the selfless couple they are, Andy and Michelle got married just a few short weeks later on October 22nd in Andy's parents' living room, so his dad could see them get married. He passed away 8 days later.
Fast forward to March 2018: Andy and Michelle had a beautiful and well-deserved wedding reception to celebrate their love among family and friends. They were excited to embark on their new adventure as husband and wife.
Then, in August 2018, a lingering cough sent Andy through a slew of doctors and tests. A biopsy revealed the unthinkable - stage 4 lung cancer. The news shattered our family - how could this possibly happen to a healthy, non-smoking 30 year old?
Andy and Michelle have been through more in the short year they've been married than most couples will ever experience, and we thought it was time that they did something extra special for themselves. They have yet to go on a honeymoon, and are so deserving of some quality time together to relax. We want to give them the freedom to plan a fun getaway and to lessen the burden of the stressful situation they are dealing with.
Over the past few months, we have seen an outpouring of love and prayers from countless people, and for that, we are forever grateful. We have received many inquiries about how you can help, and after chatting with the two lovebirds, this “honeymoon fund” is the result of that.
