Help Jackson and Andrews Family!

Alex, Jacob, Josh, and Jackson were in a nearly fatal accident on August 16th 2015. All four boys spent several months at Vanderbilt in Nashville and Scottish Rite in Atlanta. Jackson just recently came home and Alex , the oldest son, has spent several weeks back in the hospital fighting for his life due to unexpected complications caused by the accident. Alex, who was not healed yet, will now have another long road of recovery ahead. Both parents are self employed and have yet been able to return to work. This page is set up to help the family financially while they take care of their children. It is very expensive living out of hospitals and household expenses still have to be paid. It is also to provide medical equipment and supplies that insurance will not cover. Jackson has a complete spinal cord injury and is now paralyzed from the chest down. The family home had to be made handicap accessible for him which was a huge expense while being unable to work.  Please give what you can to help this family have time to heal without the pressure of financial burdens.

The family will have to be separated in two different states to undergo extensive rehabilitation. Please give what you can. Everything is appreciated. We are believing that God will provide and heal them.

I hope everyone is having a great July 4th! Someone reminded me yesterday that I hadn't posted an update in a while nor had I shared the release of my new book The Roadway to Heaven about our family's journey with all of you who prayed and donated your resources to our family, so I thought perhaps you may want to catch up on what our family has been up to since that fateful summer 2 yrs. ago. You can check out the book at https://www.amazon.com/Roadway-Heaven-Brothers-Forever-Changed/dp/069288453X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1499087405&sr=8-1&keywords=the+roadway+to+heaven!

I am sorry I have been unable to post an update recently. Alex spent almost a month in the hospital with necrosis pancreatitis. His cardiologist said that Alex shouldn't be alive. He had never even heard of someone having labs such as Alex being alive. God has surely blessed us beyond measure. He listens to the prayers from all of you and He answers! Had the wreck not have happened, we would have never known that Alex has a rare blood disorder called hyperlipoproteinemias type iv. The cardio told us that Alex wouldn't have lived very much longer. Although not curable, it is treatable. Alex will have to take medicine for the rest of his life and will have to be on a very strict diet. As soon as Alex felt a little better from being released from the hospital, he got a job at Pizza Hut as a delivery driver. On his 3rd day on the job, a woman ran a red light and t-boned him. It totaled his vehicle and has shaken him up pretty bad. He was already anxious to drive again, and for this to happen so shortly after starting to drive again was a huge setback. Please keep him in your prayers. His body and mind have taken the worst of this over the last 5 months.

Jacob and Josh are both doing great. Jacob will go back to the doctor soon as he is still limping and we want to be sure that he has healed as he should.

Jackson is just as happy as can be. He has started back to school and we have been so blessed by Community Elementary as they have went above and beyond to integrate him back into his normal classroom environment. It was very important to us that he feels like one of all of the other kids. When he first came home from the hospital it was difficult to not want to do everything for him. We naturally catered to him and asked his brothers to do the same. We realized that his confidence in doing things and pushing himself was growing weaker and weaker. We were only hurting him, not helping him. Now, when he asks for a drink, we tell him to get it himself. When we tell the boys to put their dishes up from dinner, he is included. We find ourselves thinking, "Would I get up and do this for Joshua if he asked?" It is hard to give tough love sometimes. But we have said from the moment of his diagnosis that we would not allow him to feel like he is a victim. We would teach him to do everything for himself and not use the wheelchair as an excuse to live a normal life. That may seem harsh to some, but we believe that Jackson can do anything and everything he wants to do in life, whether it is standing up or in a wheelchair.

Jackson has been diagnosed with scoliosis. He has been fitted with a back brace which, if you can believe it, cost $1800. His spine has become very curved, very quickly. Since we believe that Jackson will someday walk again, we need prayers that the brace works to stop the scoliosis. We have raised $20,000 towards his FES bike, which is crucial in keeping his legs strong when new trials become available to him. The bike will cost $25,000 for one computer, $32,000 for us to be able to work both legs at the same time. We are so close to our goal and all because of all of you. Your support with your donations and prayers has sustained our family and gotten us through. I cannot express how much it means to us in just mere words. Our hearts are filled and overflowing with gratitude.

Please continue to keep our family in your prayers. We have come so far, but have so much further to go.

Blessings,
C.C. Andrews

Alex was able to eat and hold down food yesterday. His lungs are more clear and he has barely needed insulin (his pancreas was so severely damaged we were told at Saint Thomas Rutherford he is now a diabetic that will be insulin dependent - of course we believe that God will give him TOTAL healing). He was frustrated this morning because the nurses were waking him up to take his vitals, a good sign that he is definitely getting better. Please continue to pray that he is able to eat without nausea or pain, the fluid in his lungs clear, and that he is able to get up and move around some today. We love all of you!
He felt good enough to sit up and watch a football game!

Alex was brought by ambulance to Vanderbilt yesterday. We have faith that he is now where he needs to be to get better. The doctor informed us this morning that a GI team will be here today as they have discovered he has fluid around his pancreas which may require surgery. Spending thanksgiving seperated as a family is hard, but we are celebrating all that God has done for our family this year and that Alex is finally in the right place to get the help that he needs to heal. Please continue to pray for our family. Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours!
Finally resting comfortably!
