Andrew Congdon
Andrew is a 29 year old father of two who fights Grade 4 Glioblastoma Brain Cancer everyday with a smile on his face. He uses his humor to push through even the worst of days.
His tumor was discovered January 2nd, 2014 after he suffered from a grand mal seizure in his sleep. He had his first brain surgery February 7, 2014 in Syracuse. This surgery showed his tumor to be a serious brain cancer. He was then sent to Memorial Sloan Kettering in NYC. He had his second brain surgery there July 29th, 2014.
After 6 weeks of radiation and 8 months of chemotherapy he was then diagnosed with Osteonecrosis. This is a bone disease caused from the steroids and chemotherapy. His bones don't always get adequate blood supply causing them to start to die. He had a full hip replacement on February 10, 2015 and a total knee replacement on April 13th, 2015, and another total knee replacement on November 25th 2015 in which recovery has been brutal for Andrew.
Because his cancer is currently uncurable he will be on and off chemotherapy for the rest of his life. This means that at any given moment any of his bones could start dying. If he needs steroids again for brain swelling, his chances of bone death are only inhanced further.
His family continues to pray for a cure
At this point Andrew has been officially medically terminated from work and spends a lot of days in the hospital or back and forth from the doctors. If you are willing and able, any donation amount will be put towards medical expenses, travel, and meals while away from home.
