Andrew Brunell's Hope for Life

Andrew's story~
Andrew was diagnosed with Clear cell sarcoma of the knee in 2014. A rare cancer only affecting 7% of the population worldwide. So rare at the beginning doctors did not know how to treat him. After the cancer board met they decided to remove the tumor and follow up with radiation. To make matters worse the cancer had already spread to both lungs. The Dr.'s continued to watch the tumor growth in his lungs and said the best thing to do is surgery to remove the bigger tumors. Within 10 months he had 2 major surgeries and radiation. This was not something a 15 year old should have to deal with.

Months following Andrew's healing his oncologist had only 1 option of a chemotherapy agent that could "possibly" slow the growth of the tumors. So we went with it! It nearly killed him within a months time. We searched for other options, and wanted more opinions. We traveled to all the well known hospitals in the United States. They all had one thing in common, and said to us "There is nothing" or "We could try this". No straight answers or anything that could help our child.

Andrew has been placed in the Anchor's program. He has been in this program for over a year. It's a children's form of hospice. Since quality of life is more important to Andrew and no traditional forms of medicine can help his situation Anchor's helps to treat his symptoms.
So, almost 6 years later from our visit to the pediatrician, to the hospital, getting the horrific news of cancer, surgery, radiation, chemo, follow ups, scans, blood work, hours, weeks spent at hospitals and being placed in the Anchor's program we may have a miracle!

People have always told me everything happens for a reason!
People and things come across your way when you need it most.
We found that!

Hope For Cancer! This is his last hope for life!
Andrew's cancer is progressing very quickly. So quickly they wanted us on a plane before the month of April ended. Due to insurance not covering any cost, its all out of pocket.
We will be leaving May 7th for treatment and return home May 29th.
Andrew's treatment is expected to take 12 months and includes 3 trips within this time back to Mexico for continued test and treatments.

With this being said, the estimated cost is well over $50,000 for treatment. This does not include travel to and from the treatment center, meals and time lost from work.

The success rate for this treatment is greater than any hospital could give him to live a long, healthy life!

Andrew is a sweet, loving, hard working young man! During all of this he still continued to go to school, play sports, work and spend time with the people he loves most!
Never complained, kept a positive attitude and battled through it all!

Andrew amazes everyone who comes in contact with him!
He is a fighter, his spirit and smile gives hope to all who has been by his side through all of this. Andrew has a bright future ahead of him!

Please consider helping Andrew get through this journey!

Thank you,

Andrew and Family
