Anabel's Battle with Lymphoma

Donation protected
Dear family, friends, and all who have continued to keep Anabel and her family in their prayers.

First and foremost, thank you to everyone who has sent love, support, and prayers to Anabel and her family during this difficult time.  However, more than ever, Anabel needs our help.

In all the years I have known Anabel and her husband, Robert, they have NEVER asked for anything.  Even after fighting this battle for nearly a year and with recent news of her cancer coming back for the second time, they still have not asked for help.  As a friend, who I consider more like my little sister, I am doing what I know Anabel would have done for anyone else in her position.  I'm asking for your help.  Over the course of her first year battling cancer, I have seen the stress and burdens placed on her and her family.  Now, I wish I had reached out sooner for help.

It was this past April of 2016, as a 23-year-old newlywed, working fulltime as an LVN, and attending college to become a registered nurse she was bluntly given the devastating news... "you have cancer--- Hodgkin's Lymphoma."

Anabel detected a lump on her neck in October of 2015.  After being unsuccessfully treated for the symptoms she was experiencing, her nightmare began with confirmation of having cancer.

In May of 2016, she started chemotherapy.  After a rough three months, a follow-up PET scan in August reflected an 80% reduction in tumor size.  She completed the grueling chemotherapy in late October of 2016 with radiation treatment following.  The results of the post PET scan performed in November detected five new tumors in her chest.  In January of 2017, a day after her 24th birthday, she received the crushing news the tumors in her chest were also determined to be Lymphoma.

Anabel's new treatment plan starts January 10th, 2017. She will be admitted to Sutter Hospital in Sacramento to begin more aggressive inpatient chemotherapy, followed by a bone morrow transplant depending on how effective the treatment plan is with her cancer.

Anabel's insurance has thankfully paid for her surgeries but the co-payments for PET scans, CT scans, MRI's, take home medication, and maintaining her insurance premiums have depleted her and her family of resources completely.  Through it all, Anabel continues to keep her faith for a full recovery and eventually returning back to work and school.

I am reaching out with great humility to ask for any level of financial assistance anyone can spare to help cover the aforementioned expenses.  Every little bit helps.  Just as importantly, please keep Anabel and her family in your prayers for ongoing strength, courage, faith, hope, and a full recovery.

For those of you who have never met Anabel, let me assure you how deserving, unselfish, caring, loving, loyal, and determined a young lady she is.

Anabel needs our help in waging war against cancer.

No one should have to fight cancer alone and no one can predict who or where cancer will strike next.

We are grateful for your prayers and thankful for any contributions you are able to provide to Anabel .

With sincere thanks,
Vicky

We love you Anabel.
