Andrew's Medical Fund

Andrew was diagnosed with brain cancer at the age of 4 years old. He had surgery to remove a medullablastoma from his brain and after surgery they did intense radiation. Without that radiation, he most likely would have died as he only had a 3% chance of living. Fast forward 26 years, Andy meets the woman he wants to start a family with, gets married and is moving on with his life. Andy had a seizure at work in May of 2008 and was told that he had two meningioma brain tumors and would need surgery. He had surgery and lost a good portion of his life. He was not able to talk, walk or eat and went to a rehab hospital for 7 weeks to learn all of these skills over again. At this point, anoher opinion was sought  and the Neurosurgery Team of Johns Hopkins was brought into take over Andy's care. Since then he has had 3 more surgeries to remove meningiomas from his brain. He has been lucky that the surgeries have been for the most part every two years, but that is about to change. On Septmeber 25,2015, Andy awoke from a sound sleep in a grand mal seizure. He was transported to the hospital where he was told that the mass at the top of his head has grown significantly since his last surgery in March of 2015. Andy saw his neurosurgeon on September 29th, who stated that another brain surgery and follow up radiation was going to be necessary. Andy's Team is concerned with the fact that this will be two brain surgeries in 6 months, but at this time there is no other option to give Andy the best quality of life possible. As a young family, with two children who are 6 and 3 years old, the costs of traveling to and from Baltimore are expensive as well as the hotel costs to stay down in baltimore for up to 4 days for Andrew to have surgery. We have been able in the past to use our savings to pay for these costs as they have been every two years, but with two surgeries so close, we just do not have the money. We are asking you for your help to make this time a little less stressful then it already is. We truely trust that God has a plan for everything and we know this is part of his master plan. We ask that if you are not able to support us financially that you keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we go through the next few weeks and months.
