An Unexpected Christmas-Laptops for Girlies

Donation protected
*WE REACHED OUR ORIGINAL GOAL OF $2,800... WE ARE NOW WORKING TOWARDS GETTING EVERYTHING ON THEIR CHRISTMAS LISTS!!* My sorority, Delta Zeta, was given the opportunity to provide Christmas gifts to a family who's mother was affected by leukemia. I will keep the family anonymous for privacy purposes. The mother wrote to my sorority when she sent us her kiddos Christmas lists:

"I am the mom to two wonderful kiddos! I wanted to take a minute to tell you about our situation and about the girls!  I was diagnosed 3 yrs ago with leukemia. Up till then, we lived in the same home for 13 yrs, and both parents worked! That changed quickly after getting sick! We lost our home, and have had to move more then 5 times these past few years! If I wasn't in the hospital, I was ill at home! These girls kept a smile on their face and helped me every second they could! We currently live in a one bedroom apartment and barely get by! So in advance, you have no idea how much this will mean to my girls and especially to me, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart!!"

The mother wants nothing more than to give her daughters a wonderful Christmas. After receiving her two daughters Christmas lists, I noticed both girls asked for MacBook Pros. For some reason, this brought me to tears. I am very fortunate that I always received great gifts from "Santa". It was always such a relief to open up the gift I was wishing for all year on Christmas morning. As I get older, it hurts more and more knowing so many children may not receive any gifts at all. Both the daughters are teenagers with no phones or laptops. The girls and their mother definitely do not expect to receive such a big-ticket gift from a group of college girls, so I won't stop until I can make it happen.
The girls still believe in Santa Claus. It's frustrating and confusing to wake up with no presents under the tree and wonder "why does Santa hate me?" and "what did I do wrong?" These are feelings that these girls should not have to feel this Christmas, and their mother should not have to worry about not being able to give her girls the gifts they are yearning for. If you are interested in donating so I can purchase the girls EACH a MacBook Pro this Christmas, I would be extremely grateful.
Happy Holidays!
