An Album of One's Own

Dear everyone,
at last, an album is bubbling to the surface! I am here to ask for your help in creating it.
The basic plan is to start off recording 3-4 songs and making music videos for each of them. I have three fabulous directors lined up (one who won an Emmy!) and demos made for the tracks. My initial target of 2000 euro will cover recording and mastering an EP, fees, and give a bit of a budget for each video.
I am really excited to work with directors Cathy Coughlan, Jason Byrne, and Raven Afelekte. Cathy is a multidisciplinary artist working across visual arts, film and dance-theatre contexts to create hybrid works for gallery/theatre spaces, as well as devising site specific and community responsive projects https://cathycoughlan.com/. Jason is a well known Dublin theatre director (Loose Cannon) whose recent work in visual art is astounding. Raven is an Emmy award winning videographer and spoken word artist.
Some of the songs on the album are really political, some are more of an internal bent. I have acapella songs, electronic dance stuff, simple folksy guitar, hip hop, reggae. They address parenting, anger, broken hearts, love, and revolution.
I feel like I'm about to burst at the seams and I can't wait to ease the pressure by allowing the songs to disseminate in to the world! Then I will be able to drink in fresh draughts of air and perhaps catch some new songs. :)
As far as distribution goes: I don't think it's worth printing copies until I have a full album so all EPs, singles, album art, videos, etc. will be released online. The working premise is that the songs and videos will be so wildly popular that the future will take care of itself! :) If you donate to the campaign, I will send you digital copies of the things as they come out. When the album is done, your name will be on the distribution (and thank you!) list.
Speaking of, the grand prize in the monies campaign: a yoga retreat! Here in Ireland, most likely in October/November. Probably everyone who knows me knows that I have loved and adored teaching yoga these last 17 years. I personally feel that my yoga teaching has gotten better lately, like I've found a new flock of words which are really good ones. Most everyone who knows me also knows that I teach a bevy of other things too, i.e. my ballet/handstand/acro/massage classes, and I also really love to sing. And to hold space for other community-oriented events. So I guess we could do any of that, according to the needs of the group. I'm asking for a sliding scale down payment of 150-350 euro, with the remainder of the cost (the retreat's share, probably around 200 euro per person) to be paid closer to the time.
This album will be offered with big love. I am surrounded by the most amazing people and can't wait to create with them a vision to share out in to the world. So I ask you to please join me in building this album, by donating, by sharing this campaign and the videos as they arrive, and in full enjoyment of the process and product.
