Amy's Refrigerator

Donation protected
This is my awesome big sister, Amy. I know everyone thinks their big sister is the best, but mine truly is! She has always taken care of everyone else and has asked for nothing in return. My mother likes to tell the story about when I was about 5 years old and in the hospital, placed on an IV and not allowed to eat --Amy went on a hunger strike until I could eat. That’s just how she is!

After life dealt her a terrible blow that most of us would have never been able to overcome, she packed up, moved back home, pulled herself together and got to work raising her 4 wonderful kids on a single mom’s income. For more years than I can remember she has woke up every day to care for the elderly and physically disabled as the Activities Director at nursing homes in Bowling Green and Whitehouse, Ohio.  Her daily duty is to accomplish the very difficult and emotionally exhausting task of giving purpose and hope back to those who have lost it. She entertains, laughs, listens to stories, and is the shoulder to cry on for parents and grandparents whose children are too busy to visit them anymore....and these are the easy parts of her job!  After working all day she comes home to care for her children without asking anyone for anything!  I am so proud of the life she has given to my nieces and nephew despite the hurdles placed in front of her along the way!

So here is the situation.... this week while my sister was at work my mother was babysitting my nephew and a delivery truck showed up at the house with a brand new refrigerator. This was very surprising to my mother because Amy never buys anything for herself. New appliances are not things my sister indulges in, her priorities are things like braces, cheerleading uniforms, helping with tuition or the latest item the kids need or want.  Excited for my sister and her new purchase my mother cleaned out the old refrigerator, had my dad move it to the garage and then neatly packed the new one.  She even displayed all of my nephew’s artwork on to the new refrigerator just right. The only problem is this refrigerator was delivered to the wrong address and doesn’t belong to my sister. Imagine my sister’s excitement when she got home and saw a brand new refrigerator in her kitchen and then the immediate disappointment when she realized it was a mistake and she would have to give it back.

I would like to ask for your help in spreading the Christmas spirit by  purchasing this refrigerator for the most deserving and hardest working single mother on the planet before they return next week to pick it up! This isn't a fancy "top of the line" refrigerator but to someone like my sister it might as well be. I want her to feel the excitement of an indulgence like a new appliance without the guilt of feeling like she should have spent the money on something for her kids. If you know my sister then you know she would never ask for this and she will most likely be mad at me for setting up this page, but I feel it’s time for her to receive something in return for all of her selfless acts over the years in caring for so many of our loved ones, both young and old. Can you help me show her how much she is appreciated?

Thank you for taking the time to read this GoFundMe page and even if you do not donate please consider a prayer for my sister and for all of the single mothers out there who are working so hard to give their children a good life. GOD BLESS!
