Amy's Fight Cancer Like a Grrrl

Amy Haggerty is a 40 year old strong woman with a beautiful 6 year old daughter named Violet and a recent diagnosis of Stage 2 Breast Cancer.  

As far as stages go, she's got good hope for an excellent outcome.  As far as reality goes, she's' got months of chemo, surgery, and radition.  

What all this means in the life of a working mom is exhaustion, hair loss, scheduling appointments, house cleaning, meal prep, errands, doctor visits, icky side-effects . . . all the while being AMAZING at her job in Marketing at Lakewinds and being a TERRIFIC mother to sweet Violet.



We all know insurance covers some of the expenses related to cancer treatment and recovery.  We all know there are tremendous out of pocket expenses that have to be paid for from somewhere.  

There's also the reality of being way too sick and tired to keep up with all the daily tasks in life.  Clean house?  Too hard.  Grocery shopping?  No energy.  Wig?  Might have to pause that purchase, those suckers are hundreds of dollars.  Meal prep?  Sounds like an every day task that takes a back seat to trying to survive, and food is gross on a lot of days.

Cancer sucks.  Cancer when you're young and beautiful and smart and tough and have SO MUCH life ahead of you is scary and unfair and no one should ever have to lay awake wondering if they can pay bills and meet their needs and the needs of their family.  Laying awake and thinking hard thoughts is already what Amy is doing.  Let's lift this burden for her.  Let's get her back to THIS:
