Amy's 3rd Fight Against Cancer

Donation protected
Last year we did a GoFundMe for Amy as she battled breast cancer for a second time.  After months of doctor's appointments, surgeries, chemo and radition, Amy thought she was in the clear, only to find out recently that the cancer was back and this time had spread to her back.  It has been diagnosed as Stage 4, but she has been given a good prognosis considering the circumstances.  However, Amy is required to remain on oral chemo for the rest of her life.  This chemo is not covered by insurance (thanks to the City of Chesapeake) and will cost her $200/month.  Amy has been out of work since the beginning of the school year, and remains positive throughout the whole ordeal.  Please consider giving anything you can to help her out.  Every little bit helps.  I have included the post from last year so you can read that as well if you'd like.

Amy Riberdy is a very sweet and giving woman. She is a 3rd grade teacher and the mother of two wonderful young girls. For the second time in her young life, Amy is battling breast cancer. The first time she fought breast cancer, she courageously opted for the most aggresive route, getting a double mastectomy, hoping that she would never have to fight this disease again. Sadly, she was diagnosed a few months ago with stage 2 breast cancer. Headstrong as always, Amy has been fearless in her second battle. She is currently going though chemo and has seen positive results thus far. She still has a long fight ahead of her and she needs our help.

Amy and her husband, Bill, are both public school teachers. Although being a teacher is rewarding in many ways, it is not a finacially rewarding career. Bill has had a second job for years that has helped him and Amy afford the quality of life they want to provide for their girls. Now the medical bills from her doctor's appointments and treatments are starting to roll in, and Amy may need to take leave without pay due to limited sick leave. Amy and Bill can use all the help they can get.

October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, what better way to show your support, than to directly help a friend who is currently fighting this disease. Please consider donating whatever amount, no matter how small it may seem, to Amy and her fight. Anything and everything helps and would be greatly appreciated.
