On may 24th 2017 Amy was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and was told it had spread to her colon, Pancras, and her abdomen. Once more test were done it showed the cancer started in her appendix and has spread. This is a VERY rare cancer. Amy had surgery and had all what the doctor thought was all the cancer removed. After finding it it was appendix cancer it was discovered that all the cancer was not removed. The ovarian cancer doctors turned Amy over to a doctor who specializes in appendix cancer. The plan was for Amy to go through chemo and then surgery again to remove what the chemo could not get. Amy went through 7 months of chemo and all the scans she had over the past 7 months showed the cancer was shrinking. After she completed the 7 months of chemo they did a last scan before surgery. That scan showed the cancer was starting to grow and she was obtaining a lot of fluid from the growth. Surgery was planned. During the surgery the first thing The doctor did was open up her small intestine. They did this first because they could not tell if anything was going on in there from the scans. When they opened her up, they saw the small intestine was riddled with cancer. The doctors then just closed Amy back up without removing any of the existing cancer.
