Dear Family and Friends,
As many of you may know, my family and I traveled to the beautiful country of Haiti, specifically the village of Cavaillon, in July of 2013 for a mission trip. Throughout our stay, my heart was changed and the love for the gorgeous country and the remarkable people overwhelmed me. The many memories made during the trip are ones that will remain in my heart and remind me daily how truly blessed I am. My passion for missions and specifically, my love for Haiti allowed me to board the plane to return home in peace, knowing this was not good-bye to Haiti, but instead, see you soon.
As a sophomore studying Biology with specialization in Pre-Physician’s Assistant at South Dakota State University, I have been presented the opportunity to return to Haiti on a medical mission trip through Mission of Hope. Myself, along with nine other future medical professionals, will be leaving for Minoterie, Haiti on June 10 and will be returning June 19. The purpose of the trip is a joint mission; one focus being to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ, while also bringing exceptional medical care to the citizens of Haiti by helping alongside medical professionals in mobile clinics ran by Mission of Hope. I look forward to loving on, rubbing shoulders with, and revealing our hope we have in Jesus Christ to all I encounter throughout my trip.
I cannot begin to describe my excitement to work alongside my fellow Jackrabbit students while serving the people of Haiti. I am anxious to see how my heart, as well as the people’s hearts I have the opportunity to serve, are affected. I truly believe I will be impacted in even more ways than I was the last time I visited Haiti. However, in order to go, each team member needs to raise approximately $1,500. With your support through prayer, and possibly through your financial gifts, I will be able to return to a country that stole my heart almost 3 years ago and fulfill my calling to once again serve the people of Haiti through Jesus Christ. I appreciate and thank you for your thoughts and prayers for myself and my team as we prepare to do His work in Haiti.
