After our award winning run of The Foxhole Stories "Twist, Pull, Smoke, Run-Motherfucker-Run! Audience members were so captivated by the stories of veterans coming home they were determined to find us an "official" home.
We're proud to announce that the The Foxhole Theater Company has found a home at Golden West College! This is a huge undertaking for us, but we also have the opportunity of becoming America's First Professional Veteran Theater Company.
Our first season will include the return of the award winning play "Twist, Pull, Smoke, Run-Motherfucker-Run!" and two new additions to the The Foxhole Stories. We'll also be reviving a classical piece and developing stage readings.
As with all start up Regional Theaters we have big dreams and not just for the play series The Foxhole Stories. Here are some things we will providing at the theater and for our communities:
o The Foxhole Stories: A play series encompassing every phase of the American-veteran experience.
o Re-envisioning Classical Works: with a veteran perspective on projects emphasizing themes of the veteran narrative
o Acting Therapy: Bi-weekly free class to veterans of all backgrounds in our community who are looking for an unconventional means to rehabilitation. Goal is weekly.
o Foxhole Diaries: Web series 3 min long of active/retired military telling their story of their service to be posted on youtube/vimeo
o Prison/Juvi Outreach: Providing a Shakespeare class/end of class performance up to the jail intuitions discretion of length and time
o GWC Outreach: Student internships ranging from all departments at The Foxhole Theater Company
o Yearly playwriting competition open to all active/retired military personnel distinguishing them on writing and providing a staged reading and/or performance of winning pieces.
o “All Gave Some, But Some Gave All” The Tickets On Us: In recognition of the men and women who fought and or served for their country no veteran or active duty service member will ever pay for any show, workshop, or class at The Foxhole Theater Company.
