Alternative Hope 4 Renee
Three years ago, in July of 2015, Renee was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colorectal Cancer that has metastasized to her liver and lungs. Our journey undergoing palliative chemotherapy began. As a US Army Veteran, we believed we had fought our war. We were soon to realize, that our little family was in for another fight.
Renee went on to receive over 60 rounds of chemotherapy over the next three years. This amount of a first line chemotherapy treatment is extremely atypical and has not been clinically studied beyond 8 treatment cycles.
As a Mother, Renee is remarkable. She is caring and strong for our family even on days where she is not up to it.
As some of you know, it’s been a long journey and Renee has made great strides in maintaining her quality of life throughout this difficult time, although Renee’s most recent scans and blood work have shown a resistance to the current line of chemotherapy. That, coupled with the fact that we’ve been turned down for several clinical trials has prompted us to seek additional therapy options with greater success rates.
We have decided to seek treatment with the Berkeley Institute out of their clinic in Mexico, which would include a side effect free chemotherapy option along with supportive alternative therapies to achieve a 90% response rate. The treatment plan would consist of 4 days of chemotherapy every other week, conducted out of Berkeley’s clinic in Ensenada, Mexico for 6 months initially. After the initial 6 months, Renee would be evaluated and an ongoing treatment plan would be developed. Each treatment costs $4200, not including travel, meals and lodging costs. We appreciate every donation. Any donation funds that are not used will be rolled into a foundation to benefit others in a similar situation to also receive SEF Chemo treatment.
My wife is a fighter and we believe Renee has what it takes to make this a very successful treatment, but has been limited in available options due to monetary restrictions. We are asking you to help us in joining our battle for Renee’s health by raising enough money for her initial 6 months of treatment.

I know everyone has been thinking and praying for us and we wanted to let you know that the prayers are working. Renee's blood work has returned to normal. She is not in any pain or on any pain medications. We have had a meeting with our beloved care team at Medicor Cancer Centers and will be looking to move forward with Renee's treatments again very soon. We will be sure to keep you posted.
