As many may know, Allison had emergency surgery on Sunday, May 15th. If you know Allison, you know a vibrant, energetic, smiling, happy toddler, so this came as a shock to all of us!
Allison had complained of not feeling well and lost her appetite. She was taken to the doctor, who immediately directed Keith and Irma to take Allison to the emergency room. After several studies, it was determined that Allison had a Wilms Tumor - this is an extremely rare kidney cancer, only affecting 500 children in the US. The tumor was removed, but a kidney had to be removed, as well. Allison will need to undergo chemotherapy and radiation as soon as she's stabilized to do so.
Currently, Allison is still in the pediatric ICU at Fairfax Children's Hospital.
I am reaching out to you to hopefully fill the obvious need that always comes with caring for a loved one. Keith has medical insurance, but the 8 hour surgery and 6 days in ICU will likely not be covered in full. Not to mention, Keith and Irma will be by Allison's side and away from work.
As a friend and former neighbor, the least I can do is rally those who love and care for the Easters and show them how much Allison is cared for.
Over the next couple of weeks, various forms of donation will be presented as options. For the time-being, GoFundMe is the most efficient. If you find it in your heart to donate, please do so and please watch for other fundraising details.

I am sorry it has been so long since I updated this page. Allison is NED or in remission and doing well in her DFMO drug trial and slowly gaining weight. She is finally over 30 lbs at 5 years old. Only 99℅ of kids are bigger than her !! She started Kindergarten last week and we are truly blessed for that !! We ask for prayers as she will have scans next month and we pray they remain clear.
Please remember and pray for all the children warriors that are in heaven and that are still fighting this monster!! Maybe even donate or volunteer your time to an organization that helps children and families, like Ellie's Hats or Team Mathias that help Allison so much.
We finally got the Star Act passed and signed into law this year, now we go back to Congress to make sure it is fully funded. We also ask for the White House to "Go Gold" this September!! Please email your House and Senate representative and the President to make sure we get the Star Act Law funded and finally make our precious children our nation's priority !!
Thank you to everyone in Allison's Army for all you love, support and prayers for Allison over the past two years. After 2 years and three months of intense treatments and 2.5 million dollars later, she is doing well and NED or in remission for 16 months. Her DFMO drug trial is going well and we pray everyday she will stay in remission. We also pray for all her friends and other children that are still fighting this battle.
Allison had her hearing aid molds made today. She did a great job. No surprise that she picked all pink. Overall, she is doing pretty well with her DFMO trial with no real side effects and she has a lot of energy. She is eating pretty well but we are still trying to get her to gain weight.
We now have to go to Children's Hospital of the King's Daughter (CHKD) in Norfolk every month for tests and to pick up her drugs. She will also have scans and tests every three months. Since I graduated from Cox High School in Virginia Beach and Old Dominion University in Norfolk, I plan to make our trips to the hospital a weekend event so the girls can visit local sites and the beach.
Thank you everyone for your continued support and prayers for our brave little warrior.
I am touched by the fact my friends would do this for our little Allison and our family. Our little Allison is a beautiful and feisty little girl. With Gods help and support of family, friends, and even strangers, she can beat this. Thank you to everyone for the love, support, and prayers. God bless you all !!
Poor Mr. Easters. As a parent who has had a child in the hospital as well I know what they are going through and know exactly how they are feeling and I hope with all the prayers they are receiving and all the comfort that they find some peace within everything. My prayers and thought are with him and his family.
