Allen Green

Allen Green is a father, grandfather, US veteran and a church-goingman. He is also the patriarch of the Bargain Box thrift store family. He was hired at the Bargain Box in 2008 to move furniture, help customers and volunteers, and be the store security guard. He showed up on time, every day with a smile on his face and a positive attitude that was highly contagious. He quickly became an invaluable asset to the Bargain Box.

Allen was recently diagnosed with Transverse Myelitis, which interrupts the messages that the spinal cord nerves send throughout the body. The affliction causes pain, muscle weakness, paralysis, and sensory problems.

Allen has been in the hospital with all of the symptoms associated with transverse myelitis. He is currently in a wheelchair and has not been able to return to work. His medical treatment will require costly medications and rehabilitative therapy which could last for quite a while.

Allen has helped me for years at the Bargain Box. It is now time for me to help him when he needs it most.
