#AllinforHadley - Support the Martin Family

Little Hadley Shane Martin was born on Saturday, July 27 at 37 weeks. A beautiful brunette, not blondie like her big sis Maren, Hadley weighed 5 lbs 5 oz. Annie and Ryan were so proud and excited - a new little girl to round out their amazing family.

Within a few hours, Hadley’s doctors noticed a small mass near her tailbone. With some assurances, the Martins were able to go home but needed to visit Boston Children’s Hospital within the week to run some tests. About two weeks after her birth, they returned to Boston to get the results, and unfortunately it was not what they had hoped and prayed for. Hadley was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, and would need to start treatment within the week.

Because of the location of her tumor, Hadley requires a few rounds of chemo before they can go in to surgically remove the mass. Today is round 1 - day 3 and she is handling it like a trooper!

Hadley is just like every typical newborn - absolutely beautiful, very hungry, always sleepy, and incredibly strong. I know so many people in the Martins life want to find a way to help, so, here is what you can do: donate. This is going to be a difficult road for all of them - not only emotionally, but financially. Even with two working parents, decent health insurance, and an incredible support system, getting their daughter the world-class treatment to beat cancer is going to have a big financial impact on their family.
