Necesitamos vuestra ayuda!!
Estamos organizando una gran recolecta de ropa, zapatos y otras necesidades básicas (en colaboración con la asociación IURAA) desde Barcelona para las personas refugiadas que llegan a Lesbos, Grecia. Para ello, también necesitamos donaciones monetarias para poder cubrir el transporte y también queremos donar a las organizaciones para que puedan seguir con el increíble trabajo que están haciendo.
Hasta el 15 de Octubre !
Las donaciones irán destinadas a Lighthouse Relief y Refugee Rescue. Estas dos organizaciones se ocupan de las operaciones de emergencia en el norte de la isla de Lesbos garantizando la seguridad del pase de personas en busca de refugio (Ver links al final).
Nos gustaría poder recolectar + 60 cajas llenas de vuestras donaciones de ropa y calzado y para poder enviarlas necesitamos recolectar 2500 euros. Una vez encontremos la mejor forma de transporte (terrestre o aéreo) y tengamos todas las donaciones recolectadas os informaremos del coste exacto. En el caso de que podamos abaratar costes, todo el dinero se donará a Lighthouse Relief y Refugee Recue para contribuir en la financiación de sus operaciones.
También queremos informaros, que el ser voluntarios y al haber trabajado con estas organizaciones podemos asegurar la transparencia en la financiación y el buen uso de las donaciones monetarias (al final del texto podeis encontrar una lista de cosas y actividades para las cuales se invierten las donaciones).
Las donaciones de ropa y zapatos son esenciales ya que las personas suelen llegar muy mojadas después de cruzar el mar Egeo en condiciones extremas. A demás, con la llegada del invierno es primordial poder ofrecerles un cambio completo de ropa y zapatos para evitar hipotermias y favorecer su situación antes de que sean trasladados al campo de Moria donde las condiciones son muy desfavorables.
Estas personas arriesgan sus vidas y la de sus familias porque no tienen otra elección y merecen nuestra colaboración porque todos somos humanos y merecemos ser tratados con dignidad e igualdad.

Todo el dinero que no sea utilizado para el transporte lo donaremos a las organizaciones para ayudarles a financiar sus operaciones. y es muy probable que enviemos más ropa de lo que imaginabamos! We need your help!
We are organising a big collection of clothing, shoes and other necessities (in collaboration with IURAA) from Barcelona for the refugees arriving to Lesvos, Greece. To be able to send the donations we will also need your help to fundraise transport fees. In addition, all the donations that are not use to pay transport fees will be donated to the organisations in order to contribute to the finance of their operations.
From 11th September to 15th October
The clothing/shoes donations will be sent to Lighthouse Relief and Refugee Rescue: the two organisations that carry the emergency response operations on the north shore of Lesbos, assisting arrivals and providing a safe and warmth welcome (see links below).
We would like to send around 60 boxes full of your donations and to do that we need to fundraise 2500 euros. Once we will find the best way of transport (via land or air) and will have all the donations with us we will inform you of the exact costs. If it is the case that we have extra funds then we will donate 100% of these to Lighthouse Relief and Refugee Rescue, contributing to cover costs for their operations.
We would also like to inform you that after being a volunteer and working hand in hand with the coordinators , we can ensure the transparency of their finances and the good use of the donations. (At the end of the text you can find a list of examples of what the donations are used for.
Clothing and shoes donations are essential as the people arriving are usually very wet after crossing the Aegean sea in extreme conditions. Also, since winter is coming it is crucial to provide a full change of clothes and shoes to avoid hypothermia and facilitate their situation before being transferred to Moria refugee camp in which the conditions are extremely poor.
This people risk their and their family’s lives because they do not have another choice and they deserve our collaboration because we all humans deserve to be treated with justice and dignity.

£5,00 provides water for thirsty people during a rescue
£ 20,00 keeps people warm with emergency blankets and protect them against hypothermia
£50,00 powers one rescue mission with fuel
£ 250,00 helps us spotting people in distress with binoculars, telescopes and night visioning equipment
£ 500,00 keeps our crew safe with essential repair and replacement of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
£ 1000,00 covers the cost of vital maintenance to keep our rescue boat afloat
