Alli put up an amazing fight, but ultimately succumbed to the battle against her dying body on Wednesday, February 13th, a little after 8pm, holding the hand of her Rabbi.

Services will be held at 1030 on Monday for those that wish to celebrate her life with her family and friends at Temple Kol Ami: 15030 N 64th Street in Scottsdale, AZ 85254. The family will be receiving condolences immediately following the service. There will be a luncheon in the TKA Social Hall at that time.

Update 02/11/2019. On Thursday, February 1st, Alli was not feeling well and went to the hospital. Her liver panel numbers were very elevated, but, unfortunately, she was told there are no more treatment options and she was enrolled on hospice they next day. Alli lost the ability to utilize her phone about a week ago. She has not had anything to eat and has minimal water intake, via a medicine dropper, for the last few days. Every day she gets more confused as the toxins, that her liver is unable to process, build up. She is not able to converse. She has a great support system around her at all times and she is being kept comfortable at her home. She is able to occasionally stand with maximum assistance and opens her eyes very wide when she hears Addie. Yesterday we were able to get her in a wheelchair and outside where she enjoyed feeling the warm sun on her skin for a few minutes. She is still fighting and we wouldn’t expect anything else. Thank you for all your support throughout this whole journey ❤️

*Update 12/11/2018: Since the last update on November 27th, and semi good news of Alli’s liver function test slightly improving, she has undergone a MRI of her brain and liver. Her brain scan shows that her tumors are stable, but her liver showed her tumors have grown by 35% since her last scan (which was 4 weeks ago). Alli has also started to develop nighttime fevers and fatigue over the last few evenings, which is concerning for the early stages of liver failure. Her providers are convinced her liver tumors have essentially mutated to a different form from her original BRCA in breast, lung, and brain. However, we are still waiting for the biopsy results from her liver tumors - something that is not expected to result until closer to December 25th. Her new treatment plan will include two different types of non-chemo drugs (because they have proven they dont work for her), but both will need to get approved through insurance, something that will likely take a couple weeks and a lot of fighting by Alli and her providers to get covered. At this point, she is not able to enroll in any new trials, but these two new drugs, one an estrogen blocker and another one as a type of inhibitor, are currently used together in a trial in which she is not associated.

So in the meantime, while we wait for biopsy results and insurance approval, Alli’s blood work will continue to be drawn so her liver function can be monitored and we hope that she does not exhibit any further signs of liver failure which will complicate her new treatment plan.

Update 11/16/2018:  Alli's liver tumors have doubled in size in 6 weeks and are not responding to any medications. She is currently in the hospital with recent discussion from her providers that she needs to enroll in hospice to help with her pain and start arrangement in regards to funeral preparations. She has been offered a single chemo treatment to help stabilize her liver, but that if this doesn't work, her current life expectancy is about 4 weeks due to the rapid progression that has occurred.

Alli is a 31-year-old mother fighting to stay on this earth for her two-year-old daughter. Alli was initially diagnosed with breast cancer on February 10, 2017 after she noticed an abnormal lump while breastfeeding her infant daughter. She underwent six months of chemotherapy, followed by a double mastectomy, oophorectomy and radiation.  In December 2017, Alli was given positive news that her tumors resolved and that she could get her health back.

Unfortunately, in May 2018, she became weak and was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer and has since been in and out of clinical trials trying to extend her life as long as she can. She currently still has over 30 tumors in her body including her brain, lungs, kidney, liver, and bone. Alli's only hope fighting this cancer requires her to travel out of state and to various specialists to be approved for clinical trials. Some of the Specialists and treatments are not covered or are only partially covered by insurance. Not to mention the help she needs from Nannys to continue to chase around her toddler whom is unaware of side effects Alli experiences from these life-saving treatments. This page was created to help alleviate some of the financial burden that comes with being a 31 year old mother whom is fighting to stay alive to experience another Mother's Day.
