Alien Resort Needs a Force Field

We are four extraterrestrials stranded on Earth, living on a Pacific island called Alien Resort, and Alien Resort is under siege. We work for a writer,  assembling Alien Resort comics that are published in Earth newspapers. The Beacons of Night claim that we're stealing jobs from Earthlings, and they're preparing a seaborne invasion of Alien Resort. If we had money, we could order parts for a force field. Any unused funds will go to the homeless.
