ALICE IS BURNING , written by Marc Singer, erupts at the cross section of "Alice In Wonderland" and "Paris Is Burning"
The play follows Alice after getting thrown out on the streets for being a “he” who felt like a “she.” Trying to find a friend and trying to escape her own demons, Alice finds herself lost in a Wonderland unlike any she had ever expected. Running into strange boys in the night, watching queens come to life at a ball, and feeling the wrath of an angry party host punishing his guests, Alice learns hard lessons about who you are, who you want to be, and finding home.

ALICE IS BURNING is the New York premier for writer Marc Singer. Marc received his B.F.A from Adelphi University, as well as certificates from the London Drama Acadamy and B.A.D.A at Oxford University.
The show was first inspired by a performance piece by NYC drag artist Dusty Ray Bottoms. Dusty's unique style and aesthetic have been a powerful influence on our new Wonderland since she first created the role of ALICE almost two years ago.
It was Open Bar Theatricals and their creative team who first believed in and made it possible for this show to exist. With their help, we have been able to spend the last two years working on the script through a series of readings and developmental sessions.

On November 28th, Alice Is Burning presented its first ever public reading! It was such an incredible opportunity to be able to share this story with all of you. But that was just the beginning!

Our first public reading was an exciting first step to seeing our show performed on a stage.
After two years, hours of work shopping and rewriting, and more than a few new versions, the time has come for us to finally bring this never before seen Wonderland to life.
So what do we do next? A week long run!
Set, costumes, lights, paid actors (!), and music! Most importantly music. The world of drag is such a huge inspiration for this show. The musical numbers are much of the magic and heart of the show.

There is a lot of work to be done on the journey to bringing Alice Is Burning to the stage. And this dream can only come true if we all believe in and work towards reaching our goal here!
Every dollar raised helps make it possible to afford those, actors/costumes/sets, and brings us one step closer to all jumping down the rabbit hole together!

Alice is Burning is a story very close to our hearts, and we are so thankful to all of you for your continued support as we work to bring this show to the stage.
