Alex's Fight to Beat Brain Cancer

Donation protected
My Husband and I have been married for 28 years. In those 28 years my husband has always been healthy and never had to go a hospital or a doctor.  He was the epitome of Health. However last year in 2017 I began to noitce my husband's speech became slurred around september. I told my husband he should go to the doctor if it persisted. Months passed and my husband's speech became worse,  I kept nagging my husband to go to the doctor but he said it will go away soon and that he was fine. Then in January 2018 he was not able to speak to me or to his family, he speech was incoherent... then we did some research as to what could be the cause and we saw that it may be a symptom of a stroke. thus I notice my husband's face was drooping and my family and I insisted that we take him to Emergency Room.  He agreed and we took him to the ER. He was admitted to the hospital on 1/16/18 and we were given the news that he had a stroke BUT it was due to a brain tumor and that it may be cancerous.... I was in shock, how is it possible for my husband to have brain cancer, I couldn't believe it.  The whole family was in tears and utter shock. Surgery was scheduled immediately since the tumor was 5.3 cm.. the surgery had high risks that could potentially result in my husband's death or be permanetly disabled. Everyone was worried if they will never see their father, my husband again.  My family and I held several prayers and by a miracle the surgery was a success, the surgery took place on 1/22/18. The neurosurgeon explained to us that the tumor that he removed looks to be cancer which he called it glioblastoma but was going to send the tumor to pathology to confirm.  On 2/7/18  my husband had a follow appointment with the neurosurgeon and he
was going to inform us of the pathology results. He confirmed that it is cancer and it is glioblastoma level 4. he explained that it is a very aggressive tumor and that the tumor can be back within months... the doctor told us that my husband may not be here with us much longer due to the nature of the cancer. he explained the survival rate is very low. He recommended that my husband have chemotherapy and radiation. However, even with the treatment the minimum survival rate is 14 months. As you can imagine we are completly devestated. My husband, my companion, my friend, the father of my children not being with us we cannot comprehend such a thing. We still don't believe that he has cancer and that he may not live much longer. The neurosurgeon scheduled another follow appointment on 3/8/2018 and will refer us to an oncologist to schedule the chemo and radiation treatment. such treatment is costly it is roughly around $700,000.  We welcome any donations, your donation can help cover at least half the cost of the treament. the treatment that can keep my husband with me if only for a little while longer.
