Help Alex and Nakita

Donation protected
My name is Heidi Blacker. My husband and I need your help to raise funds for our very dear friend, Alex Paine.

Alex (30 years),  and his long term partner Nakita Doherty (25 years) are about to embark on a journey that none of us want to begin, but those that do, desperately hope to come out of and see daylight again.

Alex has been diagnosed with a malignant brain tumour.

About three months ago Alex was working away from his Alice Springs home at Yulara, and started suffering chronic migraines, nausea, blurred vision & seeing stars. Alex also had pressure in his head and the sensation of his ears constantly being blocked.
After numerous blood tests, MRI's and Catscans at the Alice Springs Hospital the medical team eventually found shadowing on his brain. Alex was reffered to the Royal Adelaide Hospital Nuerosurgical team.
On Monday 21st November Alex and Nakita flew to Royal Adelaide, and could only hope for a positive outcome. Without knowing what the posibilties will be or when they will be able to return home.
On the 23rd of November, Alex underwent brain biopsy surgery in the hope of some good news, but at the very least, some answers to the mounting questions.
After waiting the week out in Adelaide away from their home and work, they were given the results of the biopsy.
Alex was diagnosed with Type 2 Astrocytoma Brain Tumour in the frontal right lobe. The tumour is taking up most of the right side of his brain and he will have to undergo an undetermined amount of further nuerosurgeries.
On the 7th of December, Alex and Nakita returned home to Alice, knowing they will soon return to Adelaide again in early January 2017.
Both Alex and Nakita are apprentices. Alex an Electrical apprentice at Chubb Fire & Security and Nakita an apprentice carpenter at Probuild NT.
With the trip to Adelaide in November and future trips requiring time off work, both apprenticeships have had to be placed on hold and all of their leave enntitlements have already been exhausted.
Many people may know Alex from his side photography business of Live StudioBooths and he has done many photo shoots in and around Alice Springs assisting Rugby Union, Go Karts, Rugby League and many other sporting events and associations

Alex and Nakita need help to pay for rent, bills & car repayments and the many inevitale trips down to the Neoro team at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, whilst they embark on this emotional and difficult journey.

Please help us assist Alex in any and every way that we can!
