Alexis's Study Abroad trip- LONDON!
Donation protected
Hello Everyone,
This spring semester, I will be heading to London for a study abroad program with the University of Maryland. In London, I will be studying the development of the British Empire: its maritime origins, the lives of Black Britons and the abolition of slavery, and the rise of fall of the British in India. As a History major, there is nothing more exciting than visiting a country so rich in history and having the opportunity to use its capital as my as my classroom!
Any contribution would be appreciated—it will be going towards the remainder of my tuition.
I am currently a junior English and History double major at the University of Maryland College Park, with a minor in creative writing and working towards a certificate in African American studies. I am a College Park Scholars alum for the International Studies Program, I am involved in multiple service and multi-cultural organizations on campus (UMD S.T.E.P.P., the Black Explosion Newspaper, PLUMAS, and SGA Diversity Inclusion Committee, just to name a few) and I also work two jobs while maintaining above a 3.0 GPA.
This will be my first time leaving the country and getting enough money to finish paying for my tuition and having monies for room and board for the trip would help me immensely.
I thank you for your contribution and your support in my education.
