Alexia Nichole Byrd's Recovery Fund "Miracle Girl"

Beschermde donatie
Hello my name is Nichole Jones mother of Alexia Byrd from St. Petersburg, Florida.  On January 11, 2019 while working, Alexia collapsed without warning. She had no pulse and was not breathing.  The EMTs arrived and she was revived on scene then rushed to the hospital and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in Orlando. Although she had a pulse, her heart rate was minimal, and she was unresponsive.

That night in the ICU would be the biggest battle for Alexia, as she struggled to stay alive. Next, she would experience her second cardiac arrest.  Doctors, nurses, and staff rushed to her and worked diligently and passionately to revive Alexia for 35 minutes.  After all efforts were made to resuscitate her, time of death was called, and her family was informed. As you can imagine, this was devasting news to hear. So as the family took their time to process and grieve before seeing her, staff began to clean up the room and prep Alexia. This is when they discovered there is a pulse. Alexia is alive!!!...a miracle!

Our Miracle Girl would face death once more that night as she experienced her third cardiac arrest. Once again doctors and nurses rushed to revive her. She was revived but remained in an induced coma. Meanwhile, prayers from family and friends continued and they vowed to stay by her side. The next day, the doctors decided to bring her out of the induced coma and gave her 48 hours to show some improvement.  The family was told if she doesn’t show movement in this time, most likely she will not wake up.  Within 24 hours, Alexia began opening her eyes and moving her legs.  This was truly a miracle, spoken by doctors and nurses that couldn't believe how quickly she started showing an increase in activity.

As of today, Alexia remains on life support and has sustained damage to her vital organs. As she continues to heal she can expect to have a long journey ahead. This journey will include rehabilitation and on-going medical assistance, once she is released from the hospital.  Her family is asking for assistance with her medical and monthly expenses, that continues to accrue until she can return to work. Meanwhile, her mother is on leave without pay and has relocated to Orlando to be by Alexia’s side through this journey.  There are many costs involved in caring for our Miracle Girl and any contribution helps. We are grateful to say that she is a fighter and has made a turn for the better and will continue to improve each day!
