I am so excited to share with you some very exciting news... I am going on a short-term mission’s trip to South Africa, July 27th – August 10th with Believers World Outreach.
Since I was little, I’ve always wanted to go on a mission’s trip but never really knew what it entailed. This specific trip has been on my heart since January, but I could never bring myself to press the “Apply” button. Let me tell you, it’s definitely easier said than done. I decided to devote myself to prayer and to seek whether or not I should go. I wanted to make sure that my heart was in it for the right reason. To be honest, there was a time where I was avoiding the decision and had totally dropped the whole idea. But then, during a church retreat a couple weeks ago, I kept hearing God saying the word “GO”. Along with other confirmations, I knew that there was no turning back. I clicked the “Apply” button. So for the first time in 3 years, I finally have a month off of school (yes, my program runs during the summers), and I’m so honoured to be spending part of it serving the people and kids in South Africa. God’s timing is so perfect!
I will be joining a group of people from all over the world to show God’s love to people and kids in this third-world country. This trip will consist of serving in the optical medical clinic, the prison and in the orphanage. I am especially excited for the children’s program that we will be organizing that emphasizes on the child’s value and uniqueness in God’s eyes.
Sometimes, I’ve realized that my pride can get in the way of accepting that I do need support and that I cannot do this on my own. Therefore, I pray that you’d consider partnering with me on this trip, not only financially, but more importantly through prayer!
