Aldo's U Visa!
One of the worst things that could have happened to this country happened on November 8th. That day flipped the world upside down for so many communities across the nation including mine. As an undocumented person, I currently find myself tossing and turning at night not knowing what will happen tomorrow. So much uncertainty and so much fear consumes every thought and every action.
The fear that I could be forced back to a country that I don't know is very real and I worry that if that happens, my American Dream will remain simply that; a dream.
I recently found out that I qualify for a U Visa because of a crime that I was a victim off as a kid. What this means for me is that I can eventually fix my residence status so that I'm no longer at the mercy of this country's cruel immigration system!
Oregon is my home and I have dedicated the last few years of my life advocating for the rights of low income immigrant families in Oregon and the US . In 2015, I had the great honor to participate in the The Fast For Keeping Families Together in New Orleans. For 9 straight days, I fasted alongside other great leaders from across the nation in order to pressure the 5th District Court of Appeals to make a decision on DACA/DAPA.

Since I first arrived to this country at the age of 6, I've followed all the rules and have tried to make something of myself so that I could help my family and also improve the community in which I live in.
By contributing to this campaign, you will be helping protect someone who is fully committed to continuing the good fight and who is currently at the mercy of the new administration.
Just a few days ago, the first Dreamer who was supposed to be protected under DACA was deported to Mexico...
A lot of people are aware that ICE's ruthless raid tactics are instilling a lot of fear in millions of families; but unless you are one of those individuals, you cannot understand just how urgent this matter is.
The sooner I can raise the necessary funds, the sooner I can submit my application and be on a pathway to safety.
