Album for my mother fighting cancer

Donation protected
Hello, My name is Jonathan Rosario-Price I am a student, artist and currently a cast member on the Fine Bros. Youtube show “Adults React”. I am currently trying to raise money to press my sophomore album (Into the Pink by Dramathan) on vinyl so I can dedicate it to my mother who is fighting terminal stage IV cancer.

With the timeline given to my mother I’ve had to come to terms with a lot of things.  The harsh reality is that my mother will not see my siblings or myself reach our fullest potential. Therefore, we are harshly awakened from childhood dreams of buying our mom a new house or being financially stable enough to send her traveling around the world before then end, but this is something I can do. I can get this album created.  My love letter to the people who supported us and my homage to tough/intelligent women who helped mold me. Women like my mom. This would be my greatest tangible gift to her. With your help of course.

I wrote this 13 track album during her cancer’s remission and comeback.  It documents the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. The album’s title was inspired by Jayne Mansfield’s Pink Palace, a lush pink Mansion doused in pink, exterior sprayed with quartz (a crystal that promotes gentle love and fierce dispelling of darkness), and decorated in heart-shaped everything. It symbolized Mansfield’s and (husband) Mickey Hargitay’s love for one and other. A house of love.  This is the house I hoped to create only this time through song. A house of love and security. A house whose head used their power and might to protect all those locked behind its doors. Never to hurt or silence them. A house of the kind that I didn’t grow up in until my mother saved us from unrelenting domestic abuse.  A house that transcends being just another building, a home.

To be honest it’s hard to ask for help, but I will do anything for my mother. To see her smile during these trying times is what I live for. Right now all funds go towards our home, my three younger brothers and of course medical bills.  Needless to say there are no extra funds to spend on making an album.  This would mean the world to me and my family because your donation not only helps bring a dream to fruition, it also helps my mother financially. All proceeds from the sale of Into the Pink will go to helping my mother. Thank you.

Love and Respect,

Kathleen Huerta (my mother) is a 55 years-young Chicana, activist, mother and all around bad ass who received her masters from UC Berkeley in Social Welfare. A year ago my mother underwent a radical hysterectomy to remove most of her cancer.  After months of chemotherapy her cancer went into remission until July of this year.  She is currently undergoing aggressive chemotherapy that is causing her mouth and throat to blister making it hard to eat. She will continue chemotherapy until the fight is over. How mom spent her birthday this October.  Still smiling!
Me talking about how much I love my mother on FBE's Youtube Channel.
Once you've been silenced you never forget how important your voice is. Here is us voting.
Mom showing my sister and I what a feminist looks like.  Always promoting inclusivity in her activism whether it be in the Fresno chapter of the Brown Berets or Act Up!
