Help with Alastor's Vet Bills

Tax deductible
Alastor was taken in by Second Chance Animal Rescue after showing up and hanging around outside a house in Madison County, VA with a bad eye injury. He was believed to have been abandoned by his previous owners. Upon examination by our vet in Prince William County it was determined that his eye was most likely injured by another animal (probably in a contest over food, as he was starving) and the injury eventually became severely infected. While it may have been repairable had he been seen by a vet sooner, at this point removal is the only option.

Despite the fact that the vet believes his eye is probably extremely painful, Alastor is a sweet, loveable, purring cat who will make a great companion once he's recovered and finds the right home.

Second Chance Animal Rescue (FB) will be caring for Alastor through the eye removal and recovery, but we need your help covering the medical bills. We are currently in the middle of kitten season, with several litters already in our care, and more requests coming in daily for us to help others. We are committed to seeing Alastor through his recovery, but the cost of his care will cause us to have to turn away other animals in need. We definitely don't want to have to do that during the busiest season for rescues (baby season.)

We need your help in continuing to help animals like Alastor, and hope you'll consider a donation to his medical costs. All proceeds from this GoFundMe will go directly into the rescue's nonprofit account to pay for the cost of his surgery and aftercare (estimated at $1600) and if we raise anything over the final cost of his bill, it will stay in the rescue's account marked for medical expenses so we can help others like him.

Because we are a 501(c)3 charity, your donation is tax deductible. We can provide you with a receipt for tax purposes. You are also welcome to call the vet directly to make a donation or send a check. Just be sure to clearly communicate that the money is for Alastor with Second Chance Animal Rescue, Acct #34333.

Thank you for your support in helping Alastor!
