On June 10th my dad suffered a severe bike accident while biking with my mom on the NWA bike trails. Due to the severity of his injuries he was immediately taken by life flight to Springfield, MO and admitted to the ICU of Mercy Hospital. Dad has suffered numerous injuries including but not limited to:
Multiple contusions on the brain
Fractures of the upper jaw, nose, cheek bones, orbital bones, and teeth
Fracture of the T6 vertibrae
Broken ribs
Collapsed lung
Abrasions of his arms, face, head, chest, etc.
Dad will require a lengthy stay in ICU along with surgeries and rehabilitation. He has been kept sedated for rest and healing most of the week. When they have lifted sedation a little he has shown some neurological response but still has a long road to recovery. Funds raised will go toward the mounting medical expenses related to the ambulance, helicopter, ICU and surgery charges.
