Keep Alameda's Warming Shelter Open!
Tax deductible
Alameda's Warming Shelter is open every Monday, on days where the temperature falls below 40 degrees, and when there is a 50% chance or greater forecast of rain until April 15.
Running the Shelter costs $1,000 a night, which includes two shifts of supportive staff skilled in working with homeless individuals, connections to services, coordination of two and sometimes more meals, on-call services, and cleaning services for the facility.
If the Alameda community can raise $6,000, we can keep the Warming Shelter open one additional night each week through the end of the season.
Your donation will go directly to Building Futures with Women and Children, who operates the Warming Shelter and provides homelessness, domestic violence, and housing assistance services to Alameda individuals and families. Thank you for your consideration!
