Robin Hood Animal Rescue Needs You!
Here is an itemized list of what we need to raise funds for that will help Robin Hood :
$400 = filing fee to regain their nonprofit 501(c)3 status
$246.47 = property taxes for 2014
$455.90 = property taxes for 2015
$1000 = to go toward the purchase of microchips, veterinary care, and other necessities.
This totals just over $2100. So far, you have donated $925, which is really pretty cool! We have a dedicated donation for the filing fee of $400, and are finalizing the paperwork for submission to the IRS very soon. Please note that RHAR is a not-for-profit organization; they simply lost their IRS 501(c)3 nonprofit status (as did many nonprofits) when the IRS reporting requirements were updated and the necessary forms were not submitted each year. Regaining their IRS-recognized nonprofit status will be helpful for soliciting donations, and for inclusion on various rating sites for nonprofits.
Please consider donating whatever you can, and know that each dollar raised will be used to continue Robin Hood Animal Rescue's lifesaving work for the animals.
About me: I am a friend of Bob and Shellie's, and have known them since August of 2008, when I adopted my dog SuSu and cat Needles from them. (They were a bonded pair whose owner passed away in hospice, with her house in foreclosure.) Bob and Shellie drove a far piece to get them from the home so they would not be taken to the pound. SuSu was fiercely dependent on her cat, Needles, and finding an adopter for both was not easy. SuSu was scared and very barky, and when I called to follow up on an email, I found that they had just been returned from their third placement - SuSu was simply not adjusting to her new surroundings at any of her potential forever homes. My husband and I arranged to meet this SuSu dog and her cat one evening, and we ended up taking them both home. Seven years later, SuSu continues to be jumpy and a bit barky, but she is a beloved member of our pack and we are grateful to have her and Needles in our life. And, we have the friendship of Bob and Shellie, which is truly priceless. :)
This is SuSu at the vet this November, just before being diagnosed with myesthenia gravis. She is on medication and doing okay!

Dancy, Franklin and Richard, as well as all the others (including Bob and me) thank you. We thank you for understanding that there are a multitude of daily expenses (and unplanned expenses) that don't even include the expenses for taking care and getting ready all the previous pet souls for adoption (spay/neuter, micro chips, shots, testing of the cats for FIV/leukemia, etc.). Shellie.
I am about ready to cry! I just found out about this being set up. Thank-you from the bottom of my heart, not just to Nia, but everybody else. We will use the funds from this GoFundMe account for the IRS application fee, the payment of property taxes and legal fees stemming from the donation turned loan lawsuit. Now I can finally get the 501(c)(3) re-instatement application mailed. Hip Hip Hooray! More later... Shellie
