AJ’s Fight with Brain AVM

Donation protected
As per GoFundMe requires, let me introduce myself. My name is Leanne Espinosa Cachero and I live in Sugar Land, TX. AJ is my beautiful niece, her dad and I are first cousins. I watched her grow up to become a beautiful & smart young lady. The sole purpose of this account is to help her and her family to alleviate some of the financial stress they will endure from the hospital bills they will receive from her continued physical, occupational & speech therapy. With the permission of the Gonzales Family, this page was created under my name. But now, we’d like to share with you what brought us to this situation.

It is unknown at this time the amount of support AJ will need and we did not intend to set a limited goal. However, any assistance of any kind is greatly appreciated at this difficult time.

A moment can literally change your life.

AJ is one of the most caring and selfless individuals we know. She is known to go above and beyond for anyone and everyone- never expecting anything in return. She is currently a full-time Nursing student at Texas Women’s University in her 3rd year of Nursing school. She also has 2 part-time jobs at Barnes & Nobles and at Sugar Creek Baptist Church.

On Wednesday, July 18, 2018, AJ complained of a headache after having dinner. A headache that she could no longer tolerate. Her family, decided it was time to take her to the ER. On the way to Sugar Land Methodist, she suffered a seizure and became unresponsive in the car. After arriving at the hospital, the doctors rushed her to get a CT scan and that’s when they discovered she suffered a significant hemorrhage in her brain. They immediately decided that she needed to be Life Flighted to Houston Methodist Medical Center. Upon arriving at Houston Methodist, they observed her and performed another CT scan and discovered that the hemorrhage got bigger. She was diagnosed with Arteriovenous malformation (AVM). Her doctors decided she needed to have an Angiogram and a Craniotomy.

Arteriovenous malformation (AVM) is a tangle of arteries and veins in the brain and those who suffer from this malformation are born with it. However, it isn't detectable until the veins actually rupture. They have a high chance of bleeding compared to normal vessels. AVMs can occur anywhere in the body. Brain AVMs are of special concern because of the damage they cause when they bleed.

The Costs

AVM spawns a numerous amount of medical procedures, and although we would all sacrifice anything and everything for AJ to be well, we still cannot financially support everything alone.

We are asking for your help in the form of monetary donations in order to help AJ and her family cover the high medical expenses involved in this procedure and hospital bills. Donations will help to relieve stress of everyday living.

Your monetary donations will be deposited directly to AJ’s personal bank account, so that she will have full access to the funds donated to her.

Any amount you can give would be deeply, deeply appreciated. I know many in our community do not have an excess of expendable income, but even sharing this page and continuing to send AJ your words of encouragement and prayers are very much appreciated.

Thank you, sweet friends and family!
