Airwar Monument
Donation protected
During the Second World War several Allied aircraft crashed in the former Lake IJsselmeer - on the current territory of Zeewolde. After the polder fell dry, three wrecks were discovered and cleared.
A total of nine airmen were killed. They will commemorated with a new monument. So that we never forget to whom we owe our freedom!
This monument is made possible by a few local companies from Zeewolde (Euroll, Bevri, Bureau Maris, De Realisatie and SteijgerComm). We are very happy with that. But more is needed.
Money is needed not only for the placement of the monument at De Verbeelding in Zeewolde, but also for the hospitality of two families from the United States who will be present at the unveiling on 5 May in the Netherlands: Family Werner and Family Raemer - 4th FG and 482 BG) .
The unveiling will take place on 5th May in the presence of representatives of the American and English government, family members, air gunners and veterans. With the help of Scouting Netherlands, students from De Levant (local high school), and of course the Municipality of Zeewolde who has given a huge amount of cooperation in the run-up, preparation and organization!
We hope for The Crowd's generous willingness to donate money to this initiative. All the Dutch initiatives to realize similar monuments.
Be generous!
Many thanks!
