Airstroke in the 2020 Olympics

Donation protected
Greetings and thank you for making time to read my story about my Tokyo Olympic Swimming Quest.

Two years ago, I made the most drastic change of my life by embarking upon a career path in Resistance Flexibility and Strength Training (RFST) with Bob Cooley in Boston at The Genius of Flexibility Center.

That summer at Walden Pond, Bob also shared with me his knowledge and expertise in swimming biomechanics and competition. Bob developed a new head-up freestyle stroke, the Airstroke Freestyle™, a competitive head-up freestyle that was faster than the traditional freestyle, a natural way to swim for everyone. The Airstroke Freestyle significantly decreases the chronic swimmer’s shoulder injury and postural problems of head down traditional swimming. What I experienced resonated deeply with me as I had grown up from age 8 through college swimming the traditional freestyle. Now instead with the Airstroke Freestyle, I am free to breathe, swim faster and faster, can actually accelerate, and enjoy the view of the world about me. Head-up swimming is the natural way all mammals swim.

Some benefits of the Airstroke Freestyle include:

•The natural way to swim. You see where you are going, as your trunk and head are out of the water.

•The audience can see you and your face.

• You get to be social while swimming.

• You breathe naturally giving you an effortless way to swim.

• The head-up alignment of your head, neck, and shoulder girdle greatly reducing risk of shoulder injury and improves your posture.

• Dramatic improvements in physiological health from a natural way to swim.

• Your legs ride high in the water and produce the forces necessary for your arms to apply those forces for increased speed and acceleration.

• Reduces drag and increase in hydrodynamic lift at top speeds - hydroplaning on top of the water. The higher your body is out of the water, the less resistance the body creates moving above and through the water.

After trying the Airstroke Freestyle and confirming the biomechanical excellence of this natural way to swim in combination with the remarkable increases in my biomechanics, posture and health from RFST, it dawned on me I had 2 extremely potent tools in taking this long-forgotten head-up swimming style to the highest platform of competitive swimming once again. Johnny Weissmuller was the last person to win an Olympic Gold medal swimming head-up in 1928.

Almost 20 years ago Bob trained Dara Torres age 33 in RFST to come back from retirement to win 2 gold medals and 3 silvers at the Sydney Olympic games, and Misty Hyman to win a gold medal in the butterfly. The Resistance Flexibility modality has developed significantly since performed on Dara and Misty; The flexibility and strength they received in 6 months can now happen in but 2 weeks.

The next couple years will provide a paramount testament to how swimming as a sport can evolve, as well as shining light to this form of Resistance Flexibility Training which has helped thousands of people recover from innumerable health conditions and to develop the human body and persona beyond what most people know as possible.

The Great Experiment

So began this project: Could I use Resistance Flexibility and the Airstroke Freestyle to make the biomechanical upgrades necessary to become the fastest swimmer in the world? The feat at times seemed silly to fathom but the progress I have made over the last two years has been astounding. However, in order to reach this international stage of competition in Tokyo 2020, I will need more serious attention and the help by Bob and others to make the changes necessary to win.

Thus far, the vast majority of my flexibility training has been done in assisted trades with other RFST Interns and Elite Trainers.  I have a possibility to qualify next year for the Olympics in the Airstroke Freestyle by concentrating on having daily private sessions of RF where Bob and assistant trainers can advance me in all ways. Approximately 200 sessions over the next six months will be needed for me to produce qualifying times for next year’s Olympic Games in the 100m and 50m freestyle and butterfly. I am reaching out to everyone for help.  I fully believe we can do this.

What’s next if I win the Gold swimming the Airstroke Freestyle?

I will continue to teach and share the Airstroke Freestyle to all ages.  I will be in a position to help progress globally sustainable initiatives in the industries of organic, small scale food production and landscape rehabilitation, clean renewable sources of energy production and distribution.

The 2024 Games in Paris?

Yes. My plan is to compete again in the 2024 Games in Paris. I’m 30 now and will be 35 at the Paris Games, I’m healthier and more fit now than I have ever have been in my entire life and am reversing premature aging with RFST and the Airstroke Freestyle.

Allocation of Funds

All money generated through this campaign will be put into an account where I will use 90% of the funds directly for Resistance Flexibility sessions and 10% to be used for additional products and services to accelerate my process including: nutritional supplements, training equipment directly related to swimming as well as dry-land conditioning, off-setting gym/pool membership costs, and various therapeutic therapies.

I am looking for Organic Company Sponsors as well as individual sponsors.

I eat and live an organic lifestyle and would love to promote organic companies all over the world.

Over the next few weeks I will open a blog to record my process publicly with written and video accounts of my progress in RF and the Airstroke Freestyle.

Please visit me at our The Genius of Flexibility centers in Santa Barbara, CA or Boston, MA and come swim with me at UCSB or Walden Pond this summer.

For information on Resistance Flexibility and Strength Training please visit www.thegeniusofflexibility.com  or Bob Cooley’s Resistance Flexibility 1.0 - Becoming Flexible in All Ways.

Thanks so much for your consideration in helping this monumental cause and helping me to promote worldwide RF and the natural way to swim - the Airstroke Freestyle.  Please share this campaign with everyone and feel free to reach out to me with any questions.
